One of the main reasons I detest winter is that I shock so easily. Every time I touch something metal, I get the kind of shock that you can HEAR (ZAP!!). Ouch! Please help me. I wear rubber-soled shoes and I do my best to not drag my feet on the carpet and whatnot. Here's the thing: I don't shock myself at home. But all day at work, Ay! Dios mio!

Go buy a spray bottle that is at least 12 ounces. Add 2 tablespoons of Downey to the spray bottle and then fill the rest with tap water. Spray the carpets, chairs and couches in your house once every 9-10 days and that will stop it.

Moisturize your skin and use fabric softener on your clothes. Also, look inside your coat... is it fuzzy? When you create friction under dry conditions you will create static. Use a vaporizer at home too!
