I had to cut down on caffeine some years ago when I was overdosing on Starbucks and got an irregular hearbeat on a few occasions. This was scary enough for me to immediately cut down to one coffee per day at the most, and not a large one at that. You have to really exercise your will power to withdraw from coffee.

I had to cut down on caffeine for health reasons. Try using 50/50 coffee or buying decaf and reg and mixing them. I started out with 4 scoops reg and 1 scoop decaf for the first week. Then 3 and 2 etc. I'm okay with 50/50, but can't give up anymore caffeine than that! At least it cuts it in half. As for weight loss, caffeine doesn't contain any calories, but does make you retain fluids. I drink a lot of water, so this isn't a problem for me. I also would think it depends on your caffeine consumption. If it's a couple cups a day then you should be fine. 2 pots a day like me, you might want to drink a lot of water. Hope this helps

Try going half-caff. That's what my mother did when she wanted to cut back. They now sell half-caff coffee mix, so when she wanted to cut down, she did "quarter-caff" and mixed half of the half-caff with the decaf. Soon you'll be all the way to decaf and you'll hardly notice!

Caffeine is an appetite suppressant, so it actually won't be that detrimental to a dieter, but it's a nasty drug that you don't want to be dependent on.

maybe you just have to face the headaches. But try not to do it in summer because you could faint with fatigue.
