I had a secured credit card with bank of america ( bad credit due to past marriage) right before christmas I had 2 fradulent charges on my card. So I called the bank and asked them if I could get a new card with a different number, they said they couldn't do that, so I just disputed the charges. I then tried to use my card a couple days later, it declined. I called the bank and they said the card was closed. I didn't request for it to be closed. They won't reopen it, and now it has dropped my credit score 10 points. What can I do? I have never been late on the payments, they even recently upped my credit limit without me depositing more money. I am so ticked at them right now.

I would call the bank again and ask immediately to speak to someone in the "retention department" or "loyalty department." Those are magic words that will often get you transferred to a rep who is more sympathetic and flexible. Explain the situation calmly and ask what options may be available for you to continue to be their customer.

It sounds as if the communication between you and the bank may have gotten garbled at some point, and a fresh attempt to converse with them may work out well.

Good luck! I hope this helps.

Correspond with them in writing and ask again why the account was closed and what was done about the previous inquiry of fraudulent charges. In writing is your back up with most things. Found that out the hard way.
Also, if the charges were done fraudulently then possibly file a police report too. Hope you still have your card with you.
But yes, I also agree with the above go to them and ask to speak with someone else in charge. But then again remember document everything. Good Luck.

your monthly statement always has a customer service address for you to write to them about anything. I would certainly write a letter explaining everything and see if that helps.
