It all depends on what you want. Go drive them, it doesn't do you any good to be driving around the dependable Civic if you hate driving it. When you could be out with a G6 enjoying your driving experience, if you like having power when you push the gas then go with the G6 and the V6 that I have averages 27mpg, on long trips I get 33mpg. Not to mention the G6 has more room, looks better, goes faster, and has a way bigger trunk. But if you like reliability and take your trips in the slow lane than the civic is the better bet:) Good luck with your decision.

Fuel economy is not going to be a determing factor for you if you look at the specs. What should determine which car is best for you should be the following:

Comfort (Do you feel comfortable, is your body okay in it, etc.)
Taste (Do you like the way it looks: do you fall in love with it?)
Use (Does the car fit your use, work, school, no. of occupants)

After you answer these, you can make a wiser decision.

And yes, the Honda will have a better resale value, but it is also stolen more often than the G6. And you will most likely get better interior features on the G6 than the Civic for the same price, which the Civics tend to be no frills.

The G6 is far better looking, and more the size of an Accord. If you can get it for the price of a Civic, do the G6.

the civic is a drone-mobile

all new cars these days are top quality and GM's warranty is better.

For the price and the new warranty GM is offering, which I think is transferrable, you might want to look at the G6. Whether you get it from Oprah or not. Yes, Honda has strong reputation for clean and well built, but I think if you look at JD Power and Associates and others, (APEAL studies, Intiail quality and the like) you'll see that, these days, there's little difference. Ultimately, though it's a question of taste. However, if price trumps taste, or "value" as GM would prefer to say, (meaning what you get for what you pay) G6 may actually be a better buy.

I have had a Honda and I now have a G6 - you could not give me a Honda now. I love my G6 - around town I am averaging 27.4 miles to the gallon and on the highway I average 36.8, with the Honda I averaged 25.6 and 32.3 - the G6 has more room in it and it does not cost quite as much.

Pontiac g6 is a good car , but they say that honda is a better to go with if you ever want to trade your car in . You will get more money for your trade then you would for a pontiac. Dont go with the g5 that's what replaced the sunfire. I just found out yesturday when I was going to trade my car in .

I would buy the Honda for reliability, longevity, and economy. But the G6 is bigger, isn't it? I guess if you need something bigger than a Civic, you should buy the G6.

The Honda Civic is by far the most reliable and dependable car on the market, with little maintenance required. I own a new 07, and I wouldn't buy anything else, especially an American car, a GM product.

I think that Pontiac is better than Civic because of its reliabiliti and residual values.
