Back pain relief depends alot on where the injury is. Laying on your stomach with a pillow under your ankles & stomach helps some folks, laying on your side with a pillow between your legs can help as well. There are exercises that can also help strengthen your core muscles and take pressure off your back (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/core-strength/SM00047)

More importantly, have you gotten an MRI? Ask your Dr. to prescribe one (if your medical requires referrals). If its a structural issue (slipped disc, etc..) it could be cured with physical therapy. If it is a structural problem and its not resolved, it could lead to bigger problems and much more pain later on (herniated disc, sciatica, etc...)

I know someone who had nagging pain & didn't get it checked & it deteriorated into a herniated disc pressing on the sciatic nerve that led to a world of pain & eventual surgery, so definitely follow up and press for an MRI to properly diagnose what is going on. Good Luck!

I've been hospitalized with back pain on more than one occasion and I've been given morphine, a muscle relaxer and an anti-nflammatory. Once they would start to work to the point where I could get up and move around the back pain eventually would diminish than stop.

Once during the time I was going to school full-time at night and working full time in a factory during the day I woke-up with a backache. I didn't want to go to the hospital because I would fall behind at school. I had heard about Aleve, so I had my husband go and get me some.

They really worked for me. When I was on morphine, it would take the edge off the pain, but it would never really take it totally away. The Aleve did take it away. I have used it for backaches ever since.

I had back spasms due to an injury to my lower back 4 years ago when I was 21. Taking walks for 20 minutes a day really helps relieve pressure to the back along with stretching...For the stretchs just google it. Oh and also wearing heating pads for about 20 minutes then switching to having a bag of ice over the area where it hurts will help out alot...good luck

get an MRI done from the base of your skull to your hips...you could have ruptured disc causing pinch nerve(s) to have a lot of pain. Also see a specialist . You may need stronger pain pills & therapy or even cortisone shots. then surgery is the last option they will do. Do not go to the chiropractor because he can induce the inflamitory on the pinch nerves if you have any....my hubby is going for cortisoine shots for his pain now because nothing worked and he is seeing a specailist. if that does not help then surgery.

i Have the same problem.. Maybe you'll have to get an xray to make sure your back pain is not more serious and damagable.. But my back has a lump on my neck area and i've done all types of test and nothing.. I take muscle relaxers prescribed by my physician which are great.. They know what to give.

I have chronic low back pain and if you havent had a pap test recently go have one. I also sleep with my heating pad on low all night, although it sometimes hurts so bad that doesnt even help.I am going to see a neurosurgeon soon. If you wait too long to correct the problem arthritis can settle into your spine, so go see a doctor

I have severe back pain from fractured vertibraes. I do daily physical therapy and it helps termendously. I have had this problem for years and been to chiros and drs and physical therapy gave me the best results. You can get some good exercises from a chiro or a physical therapist.

Epsom salt in a hot bath might help. Or just stretching out on the floor and doing some exercise once or twice a day.

Ask for a referral to a pain management center. I'm receiving epidurals for chronic back pain and they're relieving 90% of my pain.

Sometimes muscle relaxers help but they will make you drowsy and its a temporary solution. Try doing back exercises and proper lifting techniques.
It should improve little by little. If not, I would ask my doctor to get an xray or to refer you to a back specialist. I'm giving you prooper lifting techniques and back exercises to see if it helps you.
