Either in Vegas or San Antonio. Vegas would be a blast, but San Antonio is our special place we go to get away. We want to do something different with just us two there. We've both been married before so we don't want a big wedding. Been there, done that kind of thing. Which place would you recommend and what kind of ceremony? I'm 29 and he's 40. We're both single parents raising our kids on our own. We are both into 80's rock big time. I don't know if that info will help you answer or not, but there it is anyways! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Any themes you might suggest? I've never been to Vegas, so I don't know what they offer. Also, we don't want anyone there, just me & him...no kids...no friends...no family...just something personal with us only.

If San Antonio is your special place, and you want it to be just you and him, I would suggest San Antonio. You might be able to find an 80's club to get married in.

Have it in Vegas, its a new beginning for the both of yous and new start, so going somewhere different would make it more memorable. Dont have a huge wedding, just close family and friends to come. Enjoy the sites and scenery. Try using less tradional themes, do something different that you wouldnt normally do at a wedding. Walk down the asile with a 80's rock song instead of the traditional bride song. Have your bridesmaids where all different dresses. Just plan it towards what you always wanted without having to think what others normaly do. This is not your first wedding so go for something different and dareing.

I think it's too bad that your children won't be there. When single parents marry, they are, in essence, marrying two families. Your children may feel left out, which is common for children of blended families, whether they admit it or not. It's going to be a new situation and they might not know where they fit in now. So if a family wedding is still not a possibility, look into Vegas, they have a "million" wedding venues with many, many themes. Good luck to your family!

If you already have a special place - San Antonio - then why not get married in Vegas! Then you'll have two special places and cant get bored of going to one!
get married in vegas - both of you in fancy dress- a pop icon of the 80's. then blow a load of money in the casinos!!!
Hope you have a great day whatever you decide. Good luck in your future.

I live near San Antonio, so I know what a beautiful place it is. What about venturing a little further and getting married in Fredericksburg? There are lots of bed & breakfasts that would be terrific settings for your special day. Check out this link:

Fredericksburg isn't far from San Antono and you could have a new place to visit that you could return to in the future with your children. I have used Gastehaus Schmidt for reservations over the last ten years and have had wonderful results.
Good luck and God bless your marriage.

I understand SA being a special place for the two of you, but you've been there. Even if you decide on another destination other than Vegas, you need to go someplace different. A place where the two of you can discover & do things together.
You may be able to get back to SA, but being parents, just how often do you think you'll get to Vegas?

Check into Vegas, it is a fantasy land. You can have anykind of wedding theme you want, and it is affordable. A good starting place.....Lasvegas.com. The managers at all the chapels are very helpful and you can book everything from type of ceremony, limo, flowers, etc. directly with them. I got married there June 2004, and the woman who coordinated everything for me was great!
