I don't take medications. I watched my Grandfather eat pills and only thing it did for him in the long run was make him worse. My father currently eats almost 50 pills every morning....over the years he never has gotten better....but just given more pills to eat.
I myself take nothing. The most I take is Advil for a rare headache. I never get sick, I never get the flu, nothing. Why? Cause when I was younger I didn't take medication and would just deal with the cold or flu. Stay in bed for a week and be miserable, etc. But my body learned how to fight that virus. A pill doesn't teach your body anything, it just masks the problem from the body.
So over time of being sick and never taking anything....today I am sick free cause now my body can take on any cold or flu virus that comes my way. There is nothing stronger than the human immune system....medication only weakens it and can seriously destroy it over time.
PS - after reading through like 36 answers from others. I cannot believe how well brain washed the medical market has people. They so fully believe popping a pill will cure all and all will be good again. They have no real evidence on meds, their side effects or their long term effects. Common sense should tell you they are bad when you see a commerical for a medication, it then says it has this list of side effects and then about 3 yrs later you hear that medicine on the news for causing deaths and other issues and now there is a class action lawsuit. am I the only one who doesn't wear blinders here?

I don't take pills at all unless I believe they're absolutely necessary.
First of all, the medical world is pill crazy. Doctors get freebies and bonuses from drug companies. Giving you pills is good for them, not necessarily for you. Most doctors won't let you fight off the sniffles naturally, just because it looks good if they prescribe something and they assume it won't hurt you.
But, all the over-medication is already causing us problems. Take a look at the superflu and other diseases that are resistant to all drugs. They get that way by being exposed to all those drugs within a short amount of time. Before long, you have turned a common, treatable disease into a deadly illness. And, the antibodies our immune systems are supposed to have aren't there. When you take a drug, the body isn't forced to learn, and it doesn't get stronger. That makes us sick more often, defeating the purpose of "wellness treatment."
Drugs also make us complacent in our medical care. Taking an aspirin for a headache is like saying you have a headache because your body lacks aspirin. Obviously, there's an underlying cause that we never address. So, many serious conditions are ignored as long as we can dull the symptoms. Patients also don't ask questions about their treatment as long as a doctor gives them a pill. They assume that it's the best treatment, when it's often just a quick and easy way to delay serious treatment by ignoring what's really wrong.
Some people I know also boycott pills to keep from supporting the corrupt pharmaceutical companies. Some believe in holistic healthcare (virtually impossible to get in most areas) and therefore do most of their family's treatment at home. Some just haven't been able to find a trustworthy doctor... and who would take pills from someone you don't trust?
Don't assume that people who shy away from drugs are crazy or stupid. Most of them study medicine more than those who mindlessly take whatever they're handed.

Some ppl don't believe in taking medication because of a number fo different reasons.. some are for religious beleifs, and some becuase they don't agree with ingesting anything thats not organic.. and i'm SURE tylenol is NOT organic..lol.. and some ppl also believe that taking the medecation that are out today are the cause of all the cancer and other dieases. that they actually do more harm inteh long run, than they do good inthe short term. And some ppl are affraid of addiction.. they've gotten over an addiction of soem sort, and are afraid that by taking a drug they will become addicted to that, and have to go through all their suffering again to get over it. and i'm sure there are MANY more reasons than jsut thoes...

My sons school want him on meds becuz they can't control him in a class full of 32 students and I have refused because I fear that when he gets older it will lead to other drugs.I also believe that they want it just because they have a problem they can't handle n it is easier for them.We don't have these problems at home which makes me believe that it's something to do with school n besides he is 8 yrs old now n if he had a problem it's not cuz of home it's school.I have a brother who is not into taking medications cuz he is also afraid of addiction. Some people can become addicted very easily to medications and to prevent that they just won't take them unless it's serious like cancer etc...

When you take medications there is always a side affects of the medications. Some in fact causing death.
Here is an example that just happened to my daughter.
She had a fever, we brought her to the doctors. He was convinced that she had strep throat. My wife questioned him and felt she did not have it. She only hade one of the symptoms of step throat. He automatically gave my daughter a perscription for anti-biotics for 10 days. He took a culture and just this past Monday the results were in and guess what...She DID NOT have strep throat. So she took medication that kill the good germs in her body too which can open her to more sickness.

Sometimes it's a cultural issue. Some people believe they don't need to continue the medicine when they feel better, or after they run out. They need to be better educated by the doctors, nurses, and pharmacists about why they need the medication and what can happen if they stop or don't take it. Alot of people are afraid of the side effects.

Just a watch a commercial or two. It takes longer to list the potential side effects than it does to explain what the product does.
I hate trusting any drug - even vaccines to a certain extent. Obviously, some are proven safe enough and either protect or correct serious enough conditions that they're worth the risk of the side effects. In other words, I wouldn't want the dentist to drill my tooth without novocaine. Still, it just seems smarter to minimize the amount of drugs you're exposed to.

There are some people who are SCARED of taking medications. I myself am one of them. I cant tell you why, it is just a phobia some people have. I know that it sounds stupid to people who dont have this, but it seems very real to those of us who do.
I do take medications, but I have a hard time forcing myself to do so.
I have had several bad experiences with meds that were prescribed to me, such as bad side effects, and allergic reactions.

Some people believe that healing powers are reserved for god or the gods depending on what religion and to use medications is like trying to be god. A lot of other religions have different reasons but this is one I have heard

There are some who believe the medicines will do more harm than good. Since they are chemical compounds, people fear the side effects most. They are sure the medicines will effect their bodies in negative ways. I agree with you, if the medication can help, take it.
