Space shuttle fuel tank LH2 lines are aluminum due to weight. They are proof-tested with LN2, prior to LH2 use.
The real concern about cleanliness is in LOx lines. Oxygen, well, oxidizes. A sliver of foreign material can make it go boom...unless you are barbecuing (see link.)

The important thing to consider when piping Hydrogen is pipe interior cleanliness. Hydrogen rated copper and stainless piping is steam and brush cleaned, nitrogen purged, then capped. Also there are special procedures used for welding... Beware, you can possibly blow stuff up if not in the know about Hydrogen plumbing.

Copper can be used for gas phase however liquid N2 or H2 requires some very special and expensive double walled piping if it is going any distance. The piping is usually vacuum insulated and the vacuum is maintained by a vacuum pump.

In lab settings, just plain old copper or stainless steel. Commercially, probably mostly stainless.
