Any side effects? I started using Lexapro but it was messing with my sexual life wich I did not like because I am very active (with my husband) so I stopped using them, so that is why I was wondering about Wellbutrin side effects?

I had a stroke 8 years ago and now I take Wellbutrin XL. I took Prozac but it made me NUTS. The Wellbutrin take the edge off without leaving you with no emotions. I still can cry but I can now choose when and where. Before Wellbutrin, I cried at commercials!
Hope you get better!

I have been on and off Wellbutrin for years. It works quite well for me as an antidepressant, for quiting smoking, tho it didn't work long for me, after about 2 weeks, I was back to smoking like a 3 alarm chimney fire. but not depressed. I believe that had much to do with my will power.

Save yourself the Hassel and Understand your going to be a Guinea pig so to speak till you find the right Meds. and Regimen. I went down that road from Zoloft to Well Butrine with Zoloft to Well Butrine by itself. Dont forget those Kolonipins Valiums etc... Oh for good measure since that didnt work he gave me Well Butrine lexpro and 6 Mgs of xanax a day. Youll soon notice the pills consume you with wonder etc.. and I think most people will agree They are worse off then before they took Meds. Now Im free of that S*#t. It took alot but i soon knew you can live without these meds.

Yes, I have been using it for about 5 months to help with depression. I have not experienced any problems and feel better. Some use it to help them quit smoking. Wellbutrin targets your "feel good" or "pleasure center" part of the brain and that is how it works. Dopamine enhancer, I think.

Yes I used it for about two weeks and realized I didn't want the trade off. It has melatonin in it i think. Anyway, got some weird feelings from it. I do not care what any body thinks. Depression comes and goes. its part of life, unless you have a serious case. I got off it without asking my Doctor first. When I did tell him. He agreed that there is trade off on almost any medication. Find some other way if you are considering its use.

I have used it in the past, but it did not work. With bipolar people, you cannot use antidepressants because it doesn't work the right way. I have been on alot of different things to supress the depression and anxiety, and it is hard to find the right combo. Hang in there, and if you don't feel it is working, tell your Dr.

Yes, I have. The first dosage they decided to give me, didn't help at all. They increased it slightly and I had problems sleeping. So then they changed my prescription. I've been off of medication for depression now for two years and I'm doing well.
I still have some 'down' moments, but nothing as severe as in the past. We're only human, we all have our 'down' moments or 'blue' days.

It works if you want to quit smoking. I used it for awhile and went from a pack and a half down to 4 cigarettes a day. But then my insurance changed and no longer covered it so now I'm back up to a pack a day. Anyway, it works on calming you down- you're not so stressed.

I used it as a stop smoking aid. I felt extreme rage while using it. I seriously could have hurt omeone and I'm a very mild person. A co-worker used it recently and did not do well w/ it.

Good luck w/ your treatment :)
