What is another alternative?

Yes. Caffeine in any form can produce anxiety. The alternative is not to have caffeine. Once you have stopped having it you will find you will be less tired (if that is why you want an alternative). Be careful when you stop having it that you dont have chocolate at first because that has caffeine and you might find chocolate cravings. (It is like a drug - you need to either give up cold turkey or wean yourself off!!!).

Some people unfortunately just cannot tolerate caffeine and it does give them anxiety.

Not fair is it?!

I drink decaf coffee. When i go out i get a decaf cappacino and it is so nice. Cant taste the difference.

I have had anxiety issues for over 20 years and panic attacks for about a year. The panic attacks started with I was about 27. They came out of nowhere! I remember I was driving and all of a sudden I had this feeling that I had to get off the road or I would get into an accident. Then I started to get short of breath and felt like I was going to pass out. They tell you that when you get a panic attack, you should work through it. Didn't work for me. Then I went to a doctor and he prescribed Valium. It really helped it. I would say the duration of the panic attacks was about 1 year. Then there's the anxiety issue. Had that for years. Tried several medications, none of which really worked until my doctor prescribed Effexor which is an antidepressant but it helps with anxiety. I also take Klonopin for anxiety. With this form of anxiety, I can't be around a lot of people - I get paranoid. The Effexor really helps. I still take it. Good luck and God bless.

Kind of a silly question isn't it? Caffeine is caffeine whether you drink it (in sodas or coffee) or take some OTC pills.
And another alternative to what?

Try your B complex vitamins - they give you energy and don't wear off like caffiene and/or sugar.
