Doesn't need papers. I just love the breed and attitude of these cats. Any and all answers are appreciated.

Look up Burmese on the internet, there are sure to be breeders around the area. Do research like crazy dont buy the first one you see, dont settle for the cheap ones too. Likely they are cheap for a reason. Look in your large city papers you many find adds for one. They are a beautiful and lovely breed, but they do have there oriental temperments too. Some can be know to be very independant and talkative. Though some street cats have that same attitude too. Good luck they are great cats.

Talk to a veterinarian. Some DIS-reputable cat breeders allow diseases to run rampant through the populations. Since many cats have odd temperaments anyway and judges only see them a little while, a sick cat doesn't get judgetd too badly at shows. It's not like they give them a blood test before deciding who gets that blue ribbon.

A veterinarian will know who is breeding these cats and which ones are healthy. Or if they don't, they can put you in contact with somebody who can.

It's more common with dogs, but there are rescue organizations even for purebred cats. Maybe a breeder would have had the cat put to sleep because it doesn't have the traits the breeder wanted. Breeders go after some weird traits sometimes.

Contact your local Humance Society or Animal Shelter to see if they have any, or can recommend a rescue group for them. Also do a search for local breeders, but in doing this make sure you check references and as much information as you can on the breeder. Look at the breeding facility, if dirty or crowded keep looking.

It is a very cruel practice to buy any pet especally a young one although its a very profitable business for some. Even the kitten has a mother who care and love it. Is it not cruel to take it away from it's mother? Imagine a kitten taken away from it parent and sold to you for you enjoyment or pleasure. Try adopting, at least you will be solution to a problem and not be cause to this problem..

Please don't shop, adopt! With so many adorable kittens ( and lovely senior cats) slated to be euthanized, please consider adopting a shelter cat and giving one of these sweet souls a safe home... and save yourself all that money to buy cool stuff with! Or take a vacation to Burma! PS visit your pound, and you can play with any of the cats or kittens: each is different as night and day: and mutt cats love you more than a purebred any day of the week.
