yes, you should definitely take that serious...that is a common sign of blood clots.

It could be vein related but you might be able to tell better by checking your feet and ankles, especially after standing a while or at the end of the day. Are they swollen or do your veins "bulge" out lower down the leg? If so, you should see a doctor who specializes in veins. Just any doc won't do for a good diagnosis and some direction on how to keep from it causing bigger problems in the future.

I've never heard of vein pain, but I'm not a doctor. I know there are some stretches you can do to relieve the pain if it's just a muscle pain. 1) sit in a chair, and put your leg strait out in front of you, then with the same side arm, try to touch your toe. Or at least grab your ankle. do this for both legs. attempt to hold the stretch for at least 25 seconds for it to help the pain. 2) While standing, put one foot forward, bent at the knee, and place the othr leg back as far as is needed to feel the stretch. Again, do this for both legs, and hold for at least 25 seconds.

I know that may not be the answer you were looking for, but it should make your affected area feel better.

Veins could theoretically "hurt". Depending on circulation, there could be pressure on the walls of your veins and arteries. My guess however is that it could be the tendons running down the back of your legs. Bending down straight-legged often can result in the stretching of these tendons. While you think you may be putting pressure on your veins, you may actually be putting pressure on your muscles and tendons, which will temporarily alleviate the pain. Try electric stimulus treatment along with icing the area. Stimulus will draw blood circulation to the spot where it is hurting and may cure the problem.

After 10 years of struggling with all sorts of creams and pills to treat this embarrassing problem I was able to get rid of my varicose veins by using natural healing methods and alternative herbal home remedies.

Read Diane Thompson's "Varicose Veins Secrets" (also available in electronic format at: http://www.varicoseveinscure.org ). By following this guide book I was able to eradicate my varicose veins pretty fast. God bless!

Feels almost like a tendon or ligament is being shortened. If I walk on my tip toe it somewhat relieves it but its more often painful than not. If i'm just standing the pain lessens a lot.

It is more likely a circulation issue, I would stop pressing on them. Is varicose veins, spider veins or poor circulation in the legs common in your family?

It's called growing pains.
I used to get them A LOT growing up. Legs grew fast and the joints and ligaments had to keep up.
