I have already been set up for my new car loan and have made a first payment. As of Feb, 6, 2006, I will be considered "late" on my old car loan. Under the terns of the contract, they promise to pay off my other loan.

yes it is illegal. you need to contact your states Attorney General's office immediately!!

that happened where i live (the deal did that with many people) and the state police surrounded the place, handcuffed everyone and shut it down. the state took everything of theirs (personal and business).

REPORT it, in writing, with a copy of any proof you have. even if its late (which effects your credit) report it.

You need to fax a copy of the contract into the finance office for the old car.
Also call whoever did the contract and notify them, could just be a paperwork glitch
You need to get this straight right away, not that there is some ripoff going on and you have 2 cars to pay for.
