I am getting 2 wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow... and I'm scared to death! I've already had braces... and I know how much that hurt when I first got them, or got them tightened. So... my question is, which one hurts more?

Wish me luck tomorrow!! :)

I never had braces but I watched my lil sister whine for days after adjustments. But I had all four wisdom teeth pulled. Since I am scared to the dentist, I put it off until I couldn't eat, or close my mouth and the pain was constant. I went finally went in and he cleared his book for the next morning thinking I would have to have major work done. He gave me something to relax me, I got laughing gas there that morning and after he worked for a long time just giving me all the pain killer shots in my mouth (I would say a half hour of shots) It took him two minutes to pull out all four teeth, I didn't bleed, I healed in less than a week, he didn't break the teeth or anything. He said I was a rarity that my wisdom teeth came out so nice. But he gave me some really nice heavy pain killers, I couldn't drive for a few days (heck I slept almost three days). So I would say braces. But don't get to stressed out or it will be harder on you. The worst part was when they deadened the roof of my mouth. After that it was easy. Good luck, and relax.

You can't be sure. Wisdom teeth pain varies greatly from person to person. I had all four wisdom teeth pulled at the same time and I wore braces for several years. To me, getting the braces put on or any time there was a major adjustment, it hurt way more than the wisdom teeth. In fact fours hours after my wisdom teeth were pulled, I ate a hamburger. Other people have a hard time with their wisdom teeth removal.

The funniest part of the wisdom teeth experience though was my older brother had his pulled at the same time. Needless to say I was doped up pretty good from the gas they gave me. I couldn't walk straight so my mom was helping me to the car. My brother decided to be the nice big bro and help too. Only problem he was as doped as I was and busted his butt!

Good luck tomorrow!

Wisdom teeth. I had both procedures, the wisdom teeth taken out and braces. I did not mind the braces so much. It was a different type of pain for me. I hate going to the dentist with a passion so that could explain my wisdom teeth experience. Good luck to you; you will do fine!

I have had both done too. Braces were totally worse because the pain lasts for years! When you have your wisdom teeth pulled, they put you out. I have trouble staying under, and have had a history of waking up during surgeries and dental work, so I was scared. But I fell asleep quick and stayed that way. I woke up and it was all over. I only had 2 on one side, so it was easy for me to continue chewing normally, but really it was no big deal. And considering how much I hate dentists, that says a lot. You get this little syringe with a soft tip to squirt water in the canal to clean it out (which doesn't hurt) and it heals fast. It's been one year, and the holes are totally grown over now. I don't know how much it costs because mine was free since I was in the military.

Braces.
At least with wisdom teeth you get good drugs for the short term pain. Braces hurt each time they are adjusted and can last for days.
