I see it as a double standard all the way round.

That is a very good question. Some of the most viciously racist remarks that I have ever heard were by non-whites about other non-whites. I have heard several times black people use the dreaded "N" word about each other - and it is no big deal. If a white person says it - then there are ructions. In this country there seems to be a situation that nothing must be done that would allow a coloured person to claim that they are being victimized. The sad thing is that this is being increasingly resented among white people, and is seriously setting race relations back in many areas. Time we all stopped worrying about race altogether. If some employers or traders discriminate on racial grounds - they will not get the most useful employees or work force. When these are run out of business by more enlightened and more efficient competitors racial discrimination will be seen as the nonsense it is. The only discriminations that are acceptable are those based purely on talent or ability.

Hey, I'm not a racist, I have a colored T.V. haha See I like the jokes, but I am no racist. Hell I like the white jokes, the black jokes, the jew jokes, the mexican jokes, I am a non-discriminator when it comes to jokes. See the thing is, I don't really care what you call me, racist or otherwise, because I know in my heart that I am not and stupid people are going to call me stupid things as they have my entire life. I cannot waste time or energy thinking too deeply on what some idiot wants to call me. And I absolutely do not want this country to become Meximerica, although I don't really care who lives here. I thought it was nice to read in the paper yesterday how there are 100 million minorities in the country. I think its good that one out of every three people I see aren't white, and I wouldn't mind if that number went higher. What I do mind is people illegally entering this country, be it from Mexico or Eastern Europe or Asia, if your came illegally, then you should have to go back or pay the fines or something. I don't have the answer unfortunately. If caring about the laws of my country and wanting the authorities to enforce those laws (as is their job) makes me a racist, then so be it. As I said earlier, I don't have time to waste worrying about what this idiot or that idiot called me because I tend to look logically at things and make a decision based solely on that. Thanks and have a nice day.

In the UK the anti-discrimination laws apply to all, black, white, brown, even purple or green if there are any. It is possible for, say, a Scot to be racist about a Welshman but usually for the law to be enforced against ANYONE there would have to be discrimination on the grounds of race. Prosecutions have been successful where white's have been discriminated against by blacks or Asians on grounds of race.

This can be explained by something that is rather superficial. Skin color. Non-whites use their natural tones to their advantage - even though they are as much human beings as any white.
I suppose you could also include history in the mix as well. For instance, African-americans were once slaves here in the United States. Even though slavery has long since been abolished, the U.S. has an extensive history of segregation. A problem that still exists to this day.
As for whites, we've been slaves to no one. It is wrong to think that we are superior because of this.
We are all human beings. It is just a living tragedy that skin color is still a devision amongst us.

White people have brought this on themselves. We should stand up for our right to respect and not allow people of other races to mock us or use racial slurs. Next time a black dude calls you a cracker, don't just laugh it off. Get pissed! A simple "What the hell is your problem man?!" should get the ball rolling.
Or, if you want to make some kind of statement, you could call him a ******. Then it might snowball in to some kind of incident, and maybe even wind up in court. Maybe "backwards" racism would get some attention then.

it's political correctness gone mad!!! Because the Government is trying to protect the minority groups it has inadvertently flipped the whole racist thing on it's head, whereby if you are not white you can call whoever you want, anything you want, but the white population are being discriminated against for anything slightly racist that comes out of their mouths.

A double standard. Why is there a Black Entertainment Network? What would happen if there was a White Entertainment Network?
It's too bad we just can't accept each other as "people." Who cares what color anyone is?

It isn't nessarily racism,it's rudeness to a person of another color.Take for instance a skinny person making fun of a fat person. What do you call that?"Weightism"?It's labled differently to catorgorize it so we know what the issue at hand is.The principal is the same no matter what you call it and still just as wrong.

Ever seen the musical "Avenue Q"? There's a song in there called "Everyone's a little bit racist" that says it all. We are all racist in one way or another, regardless of what race we are.
