Go to the hospital they can give you a shot of a pain killer that will break the cycle. Then you need to see a neurologist and get the migraines diagnosed and get some pain killers and preventors prescribed. The earlier you take the medicine the better it works.

Migraine is characterised by its one-sided nature.

A migraine is a throbbing, intense headache in one half of the head. It can affect people of all ages. The cause of migraine is not known.

During an attack, the blood vessels in the brain dilate and then draw together with stimulation of nerve endings near the affected blood vessels. These changes to the blood vessels are probably what cause the pain, but migraine is still a condition that is poorly understood.
The first-ever attack of migraine can look like many other conditions, including meningitis or even a stroke so great care can be needed in making the initial diagnosis. Once several attacks have occurred however the pattern becomes recognisable. Depending on the circumstances it may be necessary for the person to see a specialist (neurologist) to have investigations such as a brain scan.

Other tests, such as those for ‘allergies’ or which seek to identify triggers for the migraine are of little help. Blood tests are normal in migraine

If simple painkillers and antisickness medicines consistently fail to relieve migraine attacks, then the most popular modern remedies are the ‘triptan’ group of drugs. These are prescription medicines and include sumatriptan (Imigran), rizatriptan (Maxalt) and zolmitriptan (Zomig), among others. These drugs cause the blood vessels around the brain to contract, thus counteracting the dilatation that seems to part of the initial migraine process. They come in various forms, including nasal sprays, injections and tablets that dissolve on the tongue, which can be useful if nausea and vomiting are a problem during the migraine.

If attacks are sufficiently frequent or last a long time, preventive treatment or prophylactic treatment as doctors call it, may be recommended

So consult a good doctor and get well soon.

I have had Migraines since I was a child some were so bad bad I thought I would rather die then deal with the pain. First off no one pain treatment works for every migraine suffer you need a good doctor who is willing to work with you to try and find the correct treatment for you. Also there are other headaches that have similar pain symptoms, Di hydration headaches and Tension headaches can cause extreme pain and vomiting. These can also last for days on end. I still haven't found anything that really works but 800mg Motrin when I first detect a headache is how I stay sane. Research Learn as much as you can.

If you have had this before and often then it could be a migraine. But first rule out hypertension and severe cold both easy to determine. If its a regular migraine you need to find out what triggers it off. Generally its noise, light and /or cetain food like chocolate, citric fruit or other types of food. Stop eating those food completely or in very very smal quantity. For immediate relief need to take strong prescription as panadol/panadeine/tylenol etc that to buy over the counter wont help much. May have to visit a doic and get a prescription now. hope this tips help.

Rest, preferably in a dark room where it's silent. Drink a lot of water and eat regularly. Give your temples a good massage.

You should see a doctor. There are pills that you can take before the migrain starts.

Oh you poor thing! When I get migraines they can last up to 5 days so I know how you feel.

Stay in a dark room with a cold compress on your head. At this point I would reccomend going to the ER and getting a shot. It will make you sleepy, but you will feel better instantly.

Hope you feel better soon!!!

Is this the first one you're experiencing? If not, you should have a doctor and/or prescription. If you've experienced lots and medicine you have doesn't work, see a Neurologist, more to migraines sometimes than just it being a migraine.

only cure for my migraines is cool cloth on head, cool air blowing on me and sleep it off--I can't take meds cuz I am usually sick to my stomache when I have a migraine, and light hurts and noise hurts, the only thing that feels good, is cool air (the colder the better) and a cold cloth on my head (I usually get one wet and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes) I then crawl into bed and sleep, sometimes it only takes a 2 hour nap, but 9 out 10 times I will sleep 24-36 hours before I wake back up and I am usually fine then.
