I recently attended a wedding that didn't have a wedding cake at all. They took the money that they would normally have spent on the cake and put it into the dinner and the bar. It was probably the most elegant wedding I've been to. It was a sit down dinner and consisted of a soup, a salad, main course and desert. The presentation was superb. They kept the bar open all night. It was a full bar and all the drinks were free. I didn't notice that they had omitted the cake until someone pointed it out to me the following day. I'm not a big fan of the cake either but for some reason I felt a little saddened (if that's what it was) when I realized what they had done.
There's a tradition that the wedding couple eat the top layer of the wedding cake on their one year anniversary. Maybe, just for the sake of tradition, it would be nice to have a token cake. To be honest though I think the money is better spent on drinks and food.
BTW instead of wedding favors, the bride and groom made donations to the cancer society for each of the guests. At the reception they gave us all a card telling us what they had done. I thought that was brilliant. Who wants those crazy covered nuts wrapped in gauze anyway?

You can do any kind of dessert you want. You're absolutely right, it's your wedding, and not doing a cake will make it very unique.
Why not do hot fudge sundaes? Or even a sundae bar? I think that would be fun at a wedding.
If that's too much, how about several different pies (depending on how many people you are inviting). You could even put them on one of those tiered cake stands so it kind of looks like a wedding cake. If you want all the fancy decorations, have the baker do them with whipped cream (if you like it).
You could skip it altogether and give each guest 2 or 3 varieties of cookies. Instead of feeding each other a piece of cake, you could feed each other a cookie. If you want the tradition of "cutting the cake", get one of those big cookie-cakes.
There's also ice cream cakes. The ones at Dairy Queen don't have any cake to them, it's just all ice cream and frosting.
I would just pick your favorite dessert and make it work. I'll bet no one will forget your wedding!
Congratulations!

Have a fondue fountain with fruit and marshmellows or chocolate bar by creating a table with different types of chocolate candies and truffles for your guests to either eat as a buffet or take home. Or even caramel apples or candy apples. You can even do I know you said "NO CAKE" but they have cookies that are cut out that look like wedding cakes that are monogrammed that are really cute. Brownies are nice. Or just have pies or cobbers and elegant dessert if you are having a sit down dinner like cheesecake (I know that is a cake but it is also a type of pie).
There is another type of cake thingie out and really it is not a cake but it is beautiful and it made of creme puffs and it has a french name. I can not think of it. And it is wrapped in sugar. You might want to check into that.

Have a dessert buffet with cookies, chocloate mousse, and any other deserts you like. Maybe instead of doing the traditional cake cutting you could do a cheese cake(if you like cheesecake) Or maybe have someone make you a wedding cake out of cheesecake. Just an idea.

I would personally still have a cake for you to cut and serve to the guest. My fiance hates cake, and I am also not a big cake eater but wedding cakes are soo beautiful! Besides I think my family would be upset- they love cake. You can have tons of other desserts as well, like fruit, chocolate fountain, cookies and pastries. It's very common to have several types of desserts at the wedding. Just get a small cake for photographs and the cutting.

Its your wedding and if neither of you like cake then you should not have it. What is something both of you like? Have that instead. What about little dishes of sorbet? Chocolate mousse? Mini pies would be cute if you like that, fruit tarts, how about a cookie station? You could have several different kinds of cookies with all kinds of toppings like whipped cream, nuts, chocolate syrup, caramel, sprinkles the possibilities are really endless it would be something that would be fun and very creative. I am sure it would really make an impression. In the end its up to both of you. Its your wedding have whatever you want! Congratulations!

Do you like cheese cake? Not offically a "cake" or and this was a bit odd have a wedding cookie. Go to a cookie shop and have a huge one made and little tiny ones. You could also always have the actual "wedding cake" just for guests and the cookie for yourselves

How about cheesecake? I'm not a big fan of cake either, but some of the fancy wedding cakes can actually be pretty tasty. You can get one that has more filling and less of the "cake" part. Go to a bakery and talk to them. They might have some tasty alternatives.

I'm not a big fan of cakes either, but I must say cutting the cake in the wedding reception is quite a special occurence. So you should try to still have something cake-like. If you like fruit, then the cake can be made mostly of fruit. If you like chocolate, it can be that as well. Talk to your local baker, they are often very creative.

You can have a candy bar. Fill lots of vases and jars of different sizes with different types of candy. A small scoop for each of them, and put some pretty bags out. Let everyone pick what they want. you can even get candy that matches your colors!
Another idea is get cookies made that LOOK like little cakes, or hearts, anything really. Have them decorated in your color scheme and maybe have them monogrammed!
You could also do a chocolate fountain. That way you can have fruit, pretzels, cookies, and all kinds of stuff for everyone to try! i had one at my wedding for a late night snack and everyone loved it!
