Are Musilms "required" to give a certain percentage of their income to their Mosque / Imam / etc? ( tithe )

I'm hoping to get straight answers which include either a "yes" or a "no", and also some details, such as percentages or guidelines.

Thanks!

well there are alms and charity, the former is obligatory within certain conditions if his money survived a whole Islamic calender year ,Muslim should pay 2,5% of his net money to certain people: the poor , the needy , the ones who converted recently to Islam, the traveller who lost his way ,the ones who took the responsibility to pay the debt instead of the other but was unable to pay , to set the slaves free (ofcourse this is not valid now after the abolition of slavery), the ones who collect alms from people, and to finance the army, while the latter is optional and is given to anyone who needs financial aid. the purpose of this is to purify the Muslim's money and to purify his self from miserliness, to sympathize with the poor and to solidate social ties in the society
a mosque role is to organize this process and to enable people to reach everyone, desreving alms

No, we are not obligated to give money over to mosques or imams. Some mosques also act as "madrassas" (skool) for teaching the Holy Quran. And there are many children learning and reciting the Quran, so sometimes ppl give away money/food other stuff to the imams as to help those who need help of any sort. Such transactions come under the heading of "sadaqa". The salaries of imams are organzied by the religious department of the government. They also are responsible for the maintenance of the mosques.
Yes, 2.5 percentage of our net income is given to the poor and needy.

Muslims ought to provide the money to the undesirable. starting up by technique of those who're close to love friends, and human beings contained in the community. Mosques would obtain this yet Muslims are obligated to attempt this on their own, and not in any respect with the help of a few different person, because the money would no longer make it to the undesirable human beings and there is really no assure, except there's a fashion of assuring it. I as a muslim , make effective I attempt this on my own, to the undesirable I see on the streets. Homeless, needy, agencies that help the undesirable and live on donations and and so on. Mosques and non secular washing of the lifeless and so on, are funded by technique of the authorities in countries who the final public are muslims. This assures that everybody receives an same treatment. In Saudi Arabia, mosques are funded for by technique of the authorities yet those bypass for undemanding needs and utilities. The honestly have those wide metal circumstances on the exterior for human beings to go back and go away their previous outfits and packing containers for agencies who assemble money for the undesirable.

No,

Muslims are not obligated to give out money in the mosque. Islam is a very easy religion to follow. If a muslim can manage to give away some money than he/she can give it otherwise he/she is not bound to give out money to a mosque

However if a muslim earns a good amount of money or if he has gold then only he is supposed to give zakat (Zakat is only obligatory if one year has passed) on that if he has more than 85gms of gold and if he/she has more than that.. then he/she has to give 2.5% zakat on the excessive amount. I hope I didnt confuse u here....

but u can go out on islamic websites for more details...I think u should go for rather authentic details. such that ofSahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.. Anyone can tell u his/her side of da story.. bt i think you should follow the sunnat (the prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) doings) and farz (the prophet Muhammad's (pbuh) and Allah's orders)

Allah knows the best

No , not necessary. any poor people do the job.

but what's required is if a year pass over your money, then you have to give the requirement charity called "zakah" which a percentage of your money giving to the poor people. but if you couldn't find poor people, then put it in the mosque and the mosque will take care of it by giving it to the poor.

Its called Zakaat, on yearly basis. And during the religious festival Eid, they are again bound to give some percent as Fitrana. Before the holy month of Ramadan, Banks do this work themselves.

No. Mosques are maintained by a special government department. Zakat and fitra are given to the poor. They cannot be given to mosques.
