Because the commandment says to worship God and not any other. He is jealous and doesn't appreciate those who worship a fake god and give that fake god credit for what He has done. We must worship Him in spirit and in truth. There is only one way to the pearly gates.
"The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. Mark 1:3(KJV)."
The path to heaven isn't crooked. It is upright. You have to seek carefully to find the way that leads to life and few people find it. Jesus is that gate/door and is the way, the truth and the life.
"12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because humans are naturally argumentative, so they assume that Gods would be too, I mean there are a lot of angry gods out there, so man is already portraying God as the aggressive type. Imagine two Gods:
God 1: "Homosexuality is wrong!!"
God 2: "Uhhhh, it's cool with me"
God 1: "Not now, I'm talking to the humans"
God 2: "Well how about in the future when boys go through high school gay and are so scared to come out for fear of being ostracized and beat up all because you said you don't appreciate 2 dudes?"
God 1: "Being gay is bad.....God out."

Because the Bible plainly states that there is, "ONE Lord, ONE faith, ONE baptism, ONE GOD and Father of all who is above all, through all, and in you all." That sums it up for me.
