Easy, you tell them , like you just told everyone else on the web that reads this.Honesty in a relationship is the only way things will work, whether or not it hurts the other person to hear it.

Tell them, there is no nice way to put it. Just look them in the eye and tell them you feel it would be better for the relationship, and especially yourself to have some time away from each other. Tell him that it could make the relationship stronger or you'll both figure out that it would be better for the both of you to keep things just as friends.

Just tell him you need a break, for whatever reason you come up with. I told my boyfriend that after 3 years and we were broken up for 6 months and got back together and everything is much better.

Then you don't know what you want,you don't really want to make this relationship work.You can't just tell your daughter and son "hey I want to take time off from being ur mother,u guys are giving me a hard time!".Unconditional love is the only love that is worthwhile and lasting.

Tell em. Just let them know u need a lil time to urself u feel overwhelmed. Believe ppl respect honesty, you just have to know how to word things.

you tell them honestly and sincerely that you need a break. that its nothing they did but you feel like things are getting to rushed and you need some space, explain that you don't want to see other people, but you need to see less of them for now.
