No they can't and why should we allow criminals to do so? They come here, break our laws, and act as if WE have done something wrong when we enforce them.

It partly depends on why they are being deported.
If the only reason they are being deported is illegal entry at some point in the past, then their property is not at risk, they are escorted out of the country, but if they have any property, they can arrange for a power of attorney to deal with the rest.
If they are being deported because they were in the country legally (on a visa, etc.) but committed a crime that makes them undesireable, then the crime may involve losing their property to meet the fines.
A person is deported to the country of their citizenship. Since you can't drive a truck to most of the countries of the world that people would be deported to, that question is void.
If a person was in the country illegally, proving ownership might be very difficult and owning a house would be extraordinary.

No, actually they cannot. They are illegally here and out they go. If the own property or whatever, they will have to dispose of it from out of country.
Frankly, and while it does not serve what I feel is correct, if the illegals were rounded up and deported. HUD, American car sellers/financeres and other banking groups would nearly go chest up for the financila losses.
What would America do with a worl of Mac Trucks and minni vans left behind? Or the cheesy real estate, or the push cart ice cream wagons? How much would stores and others lose to the "gone group"? This is why they continue to stay here.
AMericans don't like them for what ever reason but they can't do without their money, pennies or whatever is may be.
The thing that may turn the deal is that we also don't need their crime, their illegal use of our facilities or their over population of our world.
Such a dilemma?

That probably would have been a good concern to have before making the decision to illegally emigrate, wouldn't it?
They don't "offer" plane tickets, the deportation is not usually optional. And we certainly wouldn't trust you to drive yourself home if we couldn't trust you to come legally.
As for the real estate issue, they probably give someone power of attorney over their affairs. If not, I guess they are screwed. Serves whoever gave them the loan right.
Illegals DO own homes, Wells Fargo is notorious for allowing the matricula consular card to be used for obtaining loans of all sorts. And it is not illegal for a foreign national to participate in our real estate market.

illegals dont OWN houses. They do not allow you to do anything but take you in handcuffs to the border either by bus or plane as a prisoner. If you are being held for deportation you can bail yourself out for approx $7000.00 and plead that a judge let you leave voluntarilly. Then you can drive your van full of stuff if you want. you will get the 7k back, minus any fees for laws that you broke (aka speeding or dui).

Generally they won't let them take a van because they have to be known to have gotten to the destination (and away from here.) If their goods weren't used in a crime (the house wasn't a den for people smuggling or something) they get to keep their stuff. They have to get someone to deal with it. Sometimes they are given time to deal with it, sometimes not.
I read about a family where the father and kids were deported back to Mexico but the mother was given 2 weeks to get stuff in order (they own a house here). However, they probably figured a mother wasn't going to abandon her children. They have to have some reason to figure you won't just 'overstay' your permitted time.

if they have citizen family members in the states then the family will get their stuff probably ... otherwise the bank will probably get most of it ... but typically they get arrested and sent to a holding pen and thats it ... they dont pack their things ... and ive seen several examples of whole families being arrested ... women, children, everyone. ... if u got arrested and thrown in jail for any length of time u would lose anything u make payments on, or for real estate u owned eventually taxes would make it be confiscated by the state.

Those deported from UK are allowed to take the normal baggage allowance with them - (?)23 kilos. They cannot make alternative travel arrangements. They can ask friends to send their stuff on, or to help them deal with a property sale. They're likely to get screwed, basically.

I suppose for all intensive purposes they shouldn't be allowed to take anything more than came here illegally with. But since our government has been so lax for way too many years in enforcing our laws.....I would think they should allow them to take what they own as a compromise. Not as an alternate way to leave, since we know we can't beleive them.....but allow for them to make arrangements to have it sent or brought to them. Not government funded though. It's more than what our criminals get. I'm not so cold hearted as to think they should be dumped with just the shirt on their backs after being here years. That is as far as I personally would compromise. Otherwise.....it's all the more reason for them to keep trying to come back here illegally. Personal stuff.......and only what is fully paid for.

When a person is deported they leave and too bad if they have to leave things behind. If they own a house they will miss payments and it will be foreclosed. Don't you get it. They are here illegally. I will pay for them to leave. It is the last thing I as an American taxpayer will pay for. I don't care what they have to leave behind. If they wanted to keep it they would have come here legally.

I hope not. If we allow them to get their stuff they wouldn't stick around to get deported. Why should criminals get special treatment?
To "Mendi8a" - illegal alien criminals do own houses. Many banks give mortgages with low rates to illegal alien criminals! Another unfair thing! Illegal alien criminals can get a mortgage but many citizens don't qualify!
