they will burn in hell for eternity if they do not accept Jesus as their savior? Why would their "loving god" ever do that to them? No bible excerpts, please....

If god "loves" me, then he will "save" me no matter what, right? I think not....

I am not insulting ANYONE and I'm free to ask questions in any way that I wish. And to the pig that assumes that I should be washing my hair or shopping....well, you know what you can do with yourself. ;)

Like some others said on here...that was said to keep the "sheep in line". I can also understand why you would not want Bible excerpts as part of any answer....you don't want to hear the word of some "book" written by crazed cult leaders. You want a real answer right? Well, in my opinion....if there is a god, and he is what the Christians say he is, you won't burn in hell....for any reason. There is no hell. I say that if you are a good person and live treating others as you would want to be treated, you should be good to go.

True Christians do not believe our loving Father burns people in hell. God told Adam that the consequence of disobedience was that he would die and return to the dust he was made from, not that he would burn eternally. Genesis 2:7 says that Adam came to BE a living soul, not that he HAD an immortal soul. The scriptures say that the wages sin pays is death. Many "Christians" wish that there were a harsher punishment such as hell for certain people but in adhering to such unjust views of God actually alienate Him.
Since we have no immortal soul, persons could not be burned eternally. God is not the Sadist that false Christianity presents. Hellfire is not a biblical teaching but a pagan doctrine many "Christian" religions have embraced. (Ow! ;) The lake of fire isn't a literal burning place of torment, as can be seen by Revelation 20:14 describing death and Hades being hurled into it. (Not an excerpt!)
The problem is that the Greek word Hades and Hebrew word Sheol have been translated as "hell" in most bibles, which has come to mean a burning place of torment. Hades and Sheol were actually used in the bible to describe the common grave of mankind, and some faithful men of old spoke of wanting to go there when they were in great distress (e.g. Jacob, Job), which precludes hell as a place of torment.

You don't go to hell because you have not accepted Jesus as savior, but because you have lied, stolen, dishonored your parents, haven't loved the one true God above all else continuously throughout your life, lusted after other people, coveted others possessions, used God's name as a measure of disgust, and hated others without just cause.
Can't you see that you have fallen short of the Glory of God?
God and sin cannot coexist. Because of God's love for us, He became a man in Jesus Christ and died for your personal sins so that you could be saved through grace by faith and not by works so that no man can boast.
Now everyone who has just read this and does not repent and put their trust in Jesus to save them are guilty before God.

I think people want to believe in God because they want to believe there is something else than to just die and than nothing. To have a something good there is always something bad. I believe in God, yes, I was raised to believe in him but I have researched other religions and to me God exists. The reason we are taught that is for us to behave. I do not understand some of the teachings and never will while I live.
I have a question for you. Are you an atheist or something else? If something else why do you believe in what you do? If atheist the you really don't believe in anything do you?
I have this one last thing to say. We will never really know who is right until we die now will we? So why fight over something there is no proof of?

That is why there is purgatory.....lol I really don't believe in hell for eternity. But I'm Christian. I think you will be scared out of your wits that it really that you don't do stupid things aka I killed my parents because they stopped me from seeing my boyfriend, i drove home drunk and on X, or something of that range you know what I mean? I also don't see why people find Bible excerpts so annoying? I mean its the text that is explaining (though not scientifically accurate or sometimes society acceptable nowadays) but explaining something nonetheless.

Christians won't burn, nor do they believe they will burn...it's the non-believers or anyone without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The Bible is the Word of God. What you are asking is in the Biblical text.
Sin is punishable with death. We are not worthy. Salvation is a gift. It's up to us to either accept it or turn away from it.
What is your choice?

This is assuming that God is all loving.
Like a mother should be all loving and nurturing. Is it always so-no. So why does God have to be, by our logic/reasoning, and expectations, be without other characteristics.
If I told my Daughter, that if she touched stuck the key in the outlet she would get hurt, and possibly die, then she on her own decision, did it anyway and died. Would I be less loving because it happened? Would it be my fault. I warned her, I tried CPR, she still did it and the death or injury would be the result of of her own actions.
(This is just for sake of argument, I cant presume to know that God will send people to hell or not)

I'm a Christian (for 31 yrs) I believe that hell being a place of eternal torture was declared by one of the popes. It is a mistranslation for the scripture in Revelations where it states that the beast and the false prophet will be thrown into the lake of fire and the "smoke of their torment will rise forever." If you'll notice it doesn't say they will be tormented forever, it says the smoke of their torment will rise forever. This is a spiritually symbolic book and I think that means the memory of them in this last state before their death will last forever. Not that they will last forever in that state. The lake of fire is what is translated to be hell and Jesus said that the lake of fire is the second death. Not something eternal, but it's where everything evil will be thrown into at the end of the age and be destroyed.

Paul cleverly invented this idea...after Jesus.. that if he put this idea to world....that Jesus died for all worlds sins...and if any one accept Jesus as savior...then he will not burnt in hell...
so main theme before this cleverly invented idea was.. to attract people towards Christianity....so that people once accept Jesus as savior and keep living a sinful life and keep doing sins..in a belief that they will be granted heaven after death...that's why Christianity is the main religion of world....due to this belief.....
so Christians believes that ticket to heaven is to accept Jesus as Savior and those who wont accept it, will go to hell...
this is totally Wrong and also it is against the loving god..he will certainly put every one in hell who didn't spend a poise life..whether he/she was follower of Jesus or not..

Your question make NO SENSE WHATSOEVER, because a Christian has already accepted Jesus as their savior or they could not be a Christain. So therefore they do not think that they will burn in hell for anything.
