Where you have the narrowing at C4-C5 right, the opposite side is affected. Will you need another surgery? I have the same as you do, I have 3 levels fused together. It was two surgeries, the second failed, the fusion part is what failed, so the opening isn't a circle anymore,it's half a cirlcle with the metal plate holding the two together. I currently am disabled and have not worked since 02 because of the pain this causes. I was told that very often when more than one surgery is done, the following will likely fail. My surgeon did not tell me the second failed, I found that out when I was fighting for disability rights. So NO, I don't think I would do it again, the second was so much harder, more pain, hip pain was out of this world! Good luck with your journey, you're going to learn alot along the way.

I was rearended while stopped at a light. I had to have a disc replaced as well surgery was about 2 years ago. I hurt very badly now, as I have another herniated disc CAUSED BY THE SURGERY. My neurologist said that. The doctor who did the surgery won't admit it. What caused the other one to herniated is different motion in that area after the surgery. Isn't that lovely. I also have nerve damage by c5c6. I tryed pain pills, no help, epidural is okay, but is only temporary and costs a fortune. If you get an answer, I'D BE SO HAPPY TO FEEL BETTER!

And you can type? How old are you? What type of work did you do, and for heavens sake, you know well, you are walking on egg shells. You had better review all of your ADL's. (Activities of Daily Living). I can't imagine you would consider even going under the scalpel again. Are you a vet that tangled with a roadside bomb?
Whats left for you pal, is everything you learned, and are still learning in Physical Therapy, and follow every guideline in place for you. PT, and Nutrition, and Ergonomics are what you can lean on now. I worked post surgery in a PT clinic, and never heard of some of the thing you are stating. You had better back off the pain meds., and get with nature. I know pain is slowly sucking the life out of you, but don't let it drain your brain. Waking up every day is a miracle, and start with one tiny positive thought, and take it from there.

P.S. Sleeping on your right side will cause compression on nerves etc. Hows your mattress?

I would go to the doctor and see what the doctor says about this problem. And if he says that you need surgery then ask him what kind and get to know what the side effects are and whats going to happen in the long run.
