If dairy is part of your diet, I would suggest making perogies. They are potato dumplings.
Chop a small onion and melt about 2 tablespoons of butter in a frying pan. Cook the onion until tender and add the package of perogies. Fry them until both sides are golden brown.

1 lb Rotini pasta - cooked
1 lg onion - diced
1 lg can sauerkraut - drained - reserve liquid
1/2 lb butter
saute the onion and kraut together, stir into cooked Rotini pasta - season with salt/pepper/reserved kraut liquid.
