This may be stupid, but can I put it directly on the oven rack, or should I put it on cookie sheet?

I usually don't put mine directly onto the oven rack - but that's just because it's easier for me to remove the bakeware from the oven if it's on a pizza pan. But there's no reason why you can't. I've done it, but just like the ease of the metal pan better.

You can put it on the oven rack if the bars are close enough together to support the bakeware. Some loaf pans I"ve seen have "stabiliazer" things tokeep it from twisting in the oven.

But putting it on a cookie sheet shouldn't affect the outcome much.

It depends on the quality of the bake ware. If you can hold it by the rim or edge and it doesn't loose it's shape then you don't need a cookie sheet. I love my silicone bake ware.

You need to put it on a cookie sheet! They work great but you need to spray them with non stick cooking spary regardless of what the recipe says.
