What I buy; When I sign petitions; When I donate my money; does my one contribution really make a difference? Does what I do really help this organization?

It depends on what organization you're talking about. There are many scams out there nowadays. People trying to make a quick buck off honest hearted ones such as yourself. When you sign petitions yes it does make a difference, but marching is always better.

It really does make a difference. Most of the money to charities in this country comes from individuals, not from corporations and foundations. Every dollar makes a difference. For the people you help, it's heartwarming to them to know that there are people out there -- who they will never meet and would never recognize on the street -- who cared enough to send a donation to help. For whatever organizations you give to, they can tell you how much it costs to help one person for one day or one week or one month or with one thing: you should ask them to give you some numbers. They'll do it.
