For Christianity, I think you have to look first at what the church believes, to see if you are welcome. Having said that, I believe that being at home ultimately comes down to having friendships. So I would look for a friend within a church who could guide me to a welcoming space. Churches have the same range of personalities that you find in the general population, so don't believe anyone who tells you they have the guaranteed best denomination. Take a closer look, and trust God in the process.

Buddhism... is all about altruism, isn't overtly homophobic, there are ongoing discussions about the GLBT world and Buddhism and there are actual GROUPS of GLBTs that meet at various centers around the world, example: www.queerdharma.org for an overview, www.e-sangha.com has a special category for the GLBT community within Buddhism online... etc.

Personally, I'm Tibetan Buddhist (Gelug lineage).

Just because someone is a homosexual does not mean that we cannot love him (or her) or pray for him (her). Homosexuality is a sin and like any other sin, it needs to be dealt with in the only way possible. It needs to be laid at the cross, repented of, and never done again.
As a Christian, you should pray for the salvation of the homosexual the same you would any other person in sin. The homosexual is still made in the image of God -- even though he is in grave sin. Therefore, you should show him same dignity as anyone else you come in contact with. However, this does not mean that you are to approve of their sin. Don't compromise your witness for a socially acceptable opinion that is void of godliness.

I'm Wiccan, we accept everyone. There are even special covens just for GLBT, but many are open and free to all. We see homosexual sex in the same light as heterosexual sex, for pleasure and spiritual working. We see homosexual couples just as valid as heterosexual couples. Wiccans believe that all people are part of Nature and that Nature has aspects of masculine and feminine. Therefore, homosexuality is Natural and sacred.

Even this can be iffy depending on individuals in the congregation and their bigoted preconceptions.

If you are truly wanting to go to church to learn how to be saved, then any bible studying Christian church will do. If you are going thinking that because you are attending a church you will be saved. Your wrong. Just going to church will not get you into Heven.
