I have recently opened an ebay account and they wanted my credit card details. However, I just want to sell items and not buy them. How can I sell items and let the money go straight to my bank account and not on my credit card account?

When clicking the 'sell' button when I am logged in, it says 'use mastercard or visa'. But I only want to use money from my bank account.

How can I do this?

The reason eBay ask for Credit Card information is not to charge your account but to verify who you are as well as the fact that they do charge sellers a listing fee.

Everytime you list an item eBay, depending on what your ad is, and they charge you. So it's not for the purpose of the buyers, but more for eBay as a company so that they can make money off of you as a seller. The credit card information is not so that money that you recieve from your items can be placed there. That's seperate.

In order for you to recieve funds upon completion of a sell instantly you have to use PayPal, which is a 3rd party.

PayPal takes the money and places them in an account and you have to choose from different methods on how you want to recieve your funds: debit card, use it towards other purchases, checking account, etc.

As a seller you have to upgrade your PayPal account to accept credit cards. PayPal does charge a fee, which is a percentage of the sale.

Money does not go from the buyer straight into your checking account at all. eBay is simply a 3rd party acting to help connect sellers to buyers they have no interaction other to make sure things go smoothly. PayPal is a 3rd party that connects the buyer and the seller financially together. They are there to make sure you recieve your money in a safe matter as well as you purchasing items.

Open a PayPal account. It's the only way to buy and sell on eBay. If you do buy, only buy through PayPal with a credit card. This way if they don't send your item and you win the dispute but there's no money in their account, you can still do a chargeback to your credit card.

Go to your paypal account, all you have to do is get verified, you can add your bank account, and then you can buy using your bank account, and when you sell you can then have the money placed into your bank account. It is very easy to do.
