As a development director I KNOW why we do this (and at a minumum of 7x!!), but I am having to justify to a group if residents at our CCRC why I purchases a large (10' x 6') BEAUTIFUL donor recodniton display!! Nothing was ever done to thank past/present donors until a year ago----

I think it is a good thing, people know it is legit, and also when people start seeing who donated, other people are inclined to give as well. Especially if it is a notable person in the community. It is kind of like free advertisement. Plus, dont you want to say thank you to all all the donors?

two reasons:
1. you want them to give again.
2. you want others to see who gave and feel inspired to give also.

Because when you feel appreciated you give more.
