And why do you feel that way?

I feel it's how you treat others, I have met many religious people who are extremely self judging and quick to put you down just because you don't believe in what they believe in. But there are as many religions out there as there are flavors, if not more, and not everyone is going to like one over the other or agree with those who do like those flavors for many reasons. If one person can simply say, "I like the strawberry flavors" and the other can simply say, "I would have to say the lemon is better, but I respect your opinion" and then drop it, then things would be fine. But because this is barely EVER the issue and there are a lot of mean religious and non-religious people, I would have to go with treating others fairly, and leaving their faiths and beliefs alone!

Most Christians believe the religion and who is right/wrong is more important. As a Christian that was what was more important to me.

However, Jesus, the model Christians are trying to follow, tried to teach against religion and ceremony and promoted loving one another, even the people we want to hate! Who cares if someone is uncircumcized, who cares if they are working on Sabbath... those are religous shackles that will keep you from living true life. Jesus tried to tell his people, "I have come to give you life, and life more abundantly." Now, 2,000 years later, did we listen? No, we are too caught up in matters such as "Gay people are sinners" instead of treating all people with equal love and respect.

So... if you ask me which is more important, I say the way you treat others. If you are speaking generally, I say most people believe their religion is more important.

Well, the religion (or philosophy), Buddhism, that I believe teaches us the importance of altruism, so I firmly believe BOTH are equally important. The Dharma doesn't just tell you what you should and shouldn't do, it teaches you HOW to cultivate the positive attitudes and correct views, etc.

Religion is a base and source for every thing. A true religion teaches you to differeniate between right and wrong things. If you following the teachings of religion then surely your treatment and dealing with others will be good.

It's how I behave or treat others. I feel great because I'm not affected by "the opiate of the masses" (hollow, unreal)
