my boyfriends kids mother cant handle her now so she took her to her parents and my boyfriend called and said he was coming to get her and they said no we will take care of her now what do we do

get a lawyer and petition the court for custody on the grounds of desertion by the mother.

You are going to have to apply for custody - as an unmarried father, you do not automatically get custody of your child, depending on the state you live in.
But if you have been involved in your child's life, and can show that you can provide a stable and healthy home for the child, then you should get priority over the grandparents when custody is assigned.

Her parents have no legal rights if the father of the child wants to pick her up, (a lot depends on the child custody agreement). If there is not one, better get one soon so you have some rights.

Your boyfriend needs to get a lawyer so he can go to court and file for custody of the child.
