It's annoying that CDs continue to play for half a minute in my 02 CIvic when I turn off the key. Did the installer tap into the wrong power? The player is a Sony with a single mp3 disk.

....Uhm...what's the deal with answers 1 and 2?

You will definitely want to go back to the installer to see if he tapped into the wrong power line (he probably didn't use the wiring adaptor and just spliced everything) for the "acc" line that tells your amp to turn on.

There are some power lines on Civics that stay hot after you turn off the car like some of the interior lights and such.

Either way, this is not normal.

If you have a power cap, or larger alternator than you need, you still get current though the lines after you turn off the key, until the cap is discharged. It's probably the way the installer installed it so you didn't fry your ignition switch. If you install a big amp, it should take care of the problem and give you more loudness.

Probably just static Electricity that makes it keep playing. I sure wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Just get out of the car and go about your way.
