I mean Richardson has served our country as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and as the United Nations ambassador, diplomatic trouble-shooter and energy secretary for president Bill Clinton, I tryly believe that these and many more credentials he has will make him a great president. What do you all think?

Richardson has a lot of pluses in his column that could make him a very viable candidate in 2008.

First of all, he's not Hillary or the black guy.

If the Dems want to take the White House they're going to have to tap into the large number of non-Democrats who are fed up with the Republicans. If you want those people to vote for your candidate they are not going to take a chance on Clinton or the black guy.

Richardson is supposedly hispanic, but he's not a mestizo, so all those people who are fixated on "diversity" can vote for him with a clear conscience.

Secondly, he's currently a governor, and in the past 40 years governors have done pretty well in bids for the White House.

I wouldn't call him "great" but I think he offers an alternative to the two wild cards mentioned above and four more years of Republican (mis)rule.

NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!

Here are just a few of my reasons:

1) Last year, the state of New Mexico ranked as the worst for education. Also, illiteracy is very high there.
2) They were ranked the bottom 10 in health care.
3) Crime is disgusting in New Mexico(esp. ABQ), and alot of people live under or very close to poverty level.
4) He begged for border aid to the state of New Mexico, yet an undocumented immigrant qualifies for in-state tuition at any public university there. Doesn't exactly make sense, does it?
Not that they are all running there to go to college, but it certainly might help if he took some initiative and made things a little less cozy for them.

I have lived in that horrible state, and about the only good thing he's done is eliminate the taxes for essential items like food.
If he can't even manage NM, how the heck does he think he's going to manage the United States?

His Pro stance on illegal and legal immigration writes him off this tax payers list. The fac that he is of Hispanic origin and comes from a State are that is this way, also makes me veer away.
Sad to say but true, The illegality, the Latin screams of RACISM at every turn makes me feel that anyone of that ilk may be the same and I don't want to live in a country filled with racist acting sorts of people. It is one of the reasons I dread the idea of Latins getting into power and running things.
We will end up just like Mexico. Check our Mr. Richardson's State and yo will see it fails in many ways. Could it be the leader of the pack that is at fault? I think there is a good chance of it. He has been around for a long, long time.
Compliments of those who vote for their own group, to Heck with the outcome.

He would be a good VP. He could bring the Southwest to the Democrats since he is Governor of New Mexico and has sufficient experience in foreign affairs that will be imperative in this post 9/11 world.

Anyone who is Hispanic will be a great president. I think if we are serious about forming the North American Union, Bill Richardson is the perfect person to get it started.
