Do i need a coat, jacket or just a sweater will do

You may want a light coat at night. During the day, you may not even need the sweater. But check the weather forecasts. In the matter of week, LA went from near 90 degrees to the first snowfall in about 20 years.

well I'm a little farther south than LA but the weather is starting to get nice again... it's really cold at night but it's starting to warm up nicely during the day... you might want to bring both, a jacket and a sweater, if you plan on doing things outside at night...

Something to wear in the evening - a light coat maybe. During the day, you won't need much. It's been pretty warm the last few days.

Miserable! Today the expected high is only 75 degrees with crystal clear blue skies. It's expected to cool off to the high 60's over the weekend.
At night, it gets close to freezing. Think layers.
