I am not talking about the religion, the question is more on a human level.

So it is honorable to kill your own flesh and blood as a means to restore your honor, and the legal system says Honor Killings get minimum or light sentences.

Come to think of it why didn't the father do what the feudal Japanese would do and take his own life instead of hers?

Its sad to say, im from that culture. However my family is much more americanized, im second generation. They still believe in no premarital sex like every other family but i know that i wouldnt be killed for it. U have to understand when ur raised in that mind set its hard to change, not saying what that jerk did was right but it is understandable in a psycological way. U have to give other cultures time to adapt new habits and understand there are different ways of thinking plus u have to let thier newer younger generations live here and grow up here. Hence if ur german im sure u and ur parents and probably ur grand parents were born and raised here as opposed to me where my parents were born back in palestine and my mother was braught here at the age of 5 and my father was here at the age of 20. Im now 22 and have never even been there. U have to allow them time as how ur familiy and ancestors were given. U cant expect a whole group of people to come here and know ur ways of living and adapt them at the tip of a hat

Okay this is the religious beliefs and family honor..

WHAT truly makes this story sad is the fact that the girl was a virgin and it was proven many times and her father signed an agreement not to harm her. She left to go back home with her father feeling safe and here he still kills her.

Society is lacking big time..

That's a journalist method. The writer wants maximum impact. Knowing the methods of journalism could help in remaining open-minded. I agree that it is a terrible incident, but if you desire to remain open-minded about other beliefs, you should research the beliefs in Jordan enough to formulate your own opinions. You should also look into their STD rates and other related issues to see if this method is beneficial or a detriment.

It's impossible to understand completely. Different groups have customs and beliefs that we can never understand. There are cultures that have only arranged marriages and others that take a 9 y/o as a wife.

There's no easy answer to this thought-provoking question.

I will admit i didnt read the story but i would say to your question...we need to understand that not everyone is the extreme in thier religious views...also every religion in the world has commited atrocities in the name of that religion, so no one is innocent of hurting others in the name of thier god. Hopefully people will learn that this isnt the way.

it's quite horrific, but the murder was more a cultural thing than a religion thing. It is important to separate the two. It is also a man and his ego at work. Perhaps he felt his control over his daughter was waning. Funny how brutal the world can be...

Thats awful...but thats their beliefs, and to them, theres nothing wrong with murdering their daughters if they werent virgins.

But if he had no religions or beliefs and did it just because, he deserves the death penalty. No father should do that to their daughters. Thats horrible

it variety of feels very merciless to us, and it extremely is. we could additionally bear in techniques that the Bible provide us license to kill our "lewd" ladies besides. This incident stems from a cultural thought that a guy's potential to regulate his ladies's( I propose kin, no longer basically different halves), is his honor. while the ladies of your loved ones circulate out and act lewd in those cultures, the shame on your loved ones could be so large which you won't be able to make a competent marriage to your different daughter's, no one will do agency with you, and so on. So deeply ingrained is this thought to guard his kin from this "shame" that he feels he could prepare himself a competent guy and do the honorable component, that's an "honor killing." maximum Muslims could in all probability seem for some variety of evidence of the habit, however(loss of virginity, and so on). ladies have been stoned for being raped there, by way of fact the justice gadget is perverted in that way. i've got not got self assurance it extremely is a character ailment. think of roughly it this type. Say you reside your finished existence in a existence-style the place they carry out human sacrifice. you're taught if the gods are no longer appeased poor issues will befall the city you reside in. it may seem terrible now, on your contemporary difficulty, yet once you have been truthfully in that difficulty, you're able to experience no be apologetic approximately for this. Does it make you a psycho? No. i'm no longer saying that I accept as true with this guy who killed his daughter, i'm only saying he's in all probability no longer psychotic.
