I got a new membership yesterday and I was going into the stand up hex and I asked for the glasses and the lady that worked there said I don't need them. Isn't that bad for your eyes or do they have new bulbs that don't hurt your eyes?

UV rays hurt your eyes YES! she doesn't know what she's talking about... this is why everybody uses them. The eyelids are so thin that these UV rays go through it and damage your eyes, you could gradually loose your sight. When you don;t use them for a minute, try seeing out the booth, you'll see nothing, now... 15 mins? Besides, they are so thin and the skin is so delicate that you could get severe burns on them.

There are many tanners who go into a tanning bed without eyewear...this is crazy! I always thought The federal law requires that the salon owner provide eyewear to every customer. In the sun, you can feel your eyes burning; in a tanning salon, they remain cool to the touch. UVA lights are stronger than the rays in sunlight. Overexposure to these rays can damage your retina and burn your cornea. It can even cause cataracts.

SUE
Good day- do you not feel how dry your eyes are when youd ont wear them?
Good way to go color blind.
If thats a tried and tested fact I would want to see the results. Buy your own from another tanning salon if possible.

wear them! aside from the obvious potential eye damage-i went to a salon that didnt provide goggles and burnt my eyelids! extremely painful to say the least. only a handful of states regulate tanning salons, so you have to be informed and use your own common sense.

They are lying to you and it is against the law!
They have a duty and a responsbility to provide the goggles for you to wear. Demand them and tell them you know better!
