You will need to get a shampoo for colr treated hair. HOw often are you washing your hair? when applying hair color, you have to give to color time to lock into the hair. Also get retouches every 6 to 8 weeks.

Three months is too long to expect the color to last. I do mine every four or five weeks. Do you spend a lot of time in the sun? That will fade your color. Do you wash your hair every day? Again, that speeds up the fading process, even if you use the special shampoo. If you're changing your color drastically, it will seem to fade faster. You might try a different brand of dye. Some of them may last longer than others on your particular hair.

Just because shampoos and conditioners say they're for colored or processed hair doesn't mean it will really protect your color. You might consider going to a beauty supply store and asking their opinion on some of the products they have. I use a glaze shampoo and conditioner I buy at Wal Mart and seem to have decent success with that. It costs a bit more, but I get a few extra weeks out of my hair color. Using the glaze,I can usually get my color to last a couple of months, sometimes even stretch it to 3 months.

How your color fades depends on many factors. Everyone's hair takes color differently. Some tips are: 1.MAKE SURE YOU'RE HAVING YOUR HAIR COLORED BY A PROFESSIONAL! Most people don't know that store-bought color continues to process after it has been washed off, so you don't keep the color that you first saw. 2. Use a professional brand of color care products. I swear, they are worth the extra few bucks. 3. Don't wash your hair daily. 4. Wash your hair in cold water

Unfortunately, almost no one's hair stays the color it originally turns out when it is first colored. You may want to try getting your hair colored every 6-8 week instead of every 12. Good luck!

If your color is fading back to your original haircolor, you are most likely using a semi-permanent haircolor. Permanent haircolor , even though it may fade a bit, will leave a regrowth line as it grows out. If you aren't seeing this, or seeing "roots", I would guess you're just using temporary color. Reds are especially prone to fading, but if you're using a shampoo for colored hair, it shouldn't be a big problem. Also, color can fade if your hair is damaged or lacking protein. So, make sure you are using a reconditioner occasionally to keep your hair in shape. It's a good idea to invest in professional hair products. They may cost a bit more, but they are more concentrated so you can use less.

My wive does my hair color every 4 weeks or so. My natural color is gray to white, so the roots start to show after 3 weeks. During the 4 weeks the color seems to be steady except when I am in the sun a lot. We use 5 Minute "Just For Men." I highly recommend it for men, but you really need a partner to apply it.

dies from drug stores are only semi perment salon dyes aare perment get your hair professionaly died and then get root touch ups. Your hair grows that's why it seems like it's fading. Plus if you dye your hair red it fades faster. dont' shampo hair every day allow the oilds to build up wash every other day or every third day. Use conditioner but stay away from swave and pantine they contain the same products as floor wax that why it makes it so shiney ewww I know.
all I can say if you want good hair you sadly have to invest in good salon products

stylists use a glaze to bring back out the colour in your dye and prevent fading. you can either go get a glaze in between your colouring or you can do it yourself. it has a little bit of hair colour in it so that your hair picks it up no matter the shade u dyed it.
John Freida has a great glaze for either blonde, brunette or red hair.
Also try to use a shampoo & conditioner that is specifically for coloured hair and protecting it. John Freida is good and so is Panteen ProV

are you doing this at home or in a solon? If you have dark hair and ur dying it with a light color it wont stay as long, u may want to get it professionally done a few times to strip ur natural color. It does get costly but after about 3 applications u can do it from home again.
