My research reveals 3 levels of heaven.
There are three levels of heaven: telestial, terrestrial, and celestial, Mormon Doctrine.
Plus, some mormons believe that if you are good enough, you may actually become a God.
Good stuff.

Let me point out that of the answers so far, only one - other than myself is LDS, and that is guitarpicker.
While I haven't heard of the three levels within each level of Heaven. He is correct on the three general levels of Heaven. And I have heard that there are levels within those three levels, but I haven't heard exactly how many "sub levels". I'm not saying he's wrong, just I don't have a knowledge of it.
He is also correct about Outer Darkness.
Might I also add that we also believe our spirits go to a spirit world after death, but before judgement which is seperated into two areas. Paradise and Hell are the names of the two areas and they are divided along these lines: Paradise is for everyone who has accepted the teachings and ordinances of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, and Hell is for those who haven't ...yet. The purpose of this spirit world is not only a "hold" place until Judgement, but also a place where those who have accepted the true Gospel of Jesus Christ can teach those who haven't. And those who haven't accepted it, can have the opportunity to do so. When they do, as I understand it, they are allowed to enter Paradise. If they don't accept it by the time of Judgement, then they will spend eternity in Outer Darkness. Also, as I understand it, there will be VERY, VERY few who do not accept it. Therefore, most will go to one of the levels of Heaven. And again, as I understand it, the Terrestrial world will be very much like the world we know live in, except there won't be any death.

There are three primary degrees of glory: the Celestial, the Terrestrial, and the Telestial. Each of these degrees have three separate divisions and the lowest of the Telestial would be an abode of hell for those inhabitants earning that world.
Outer Darkness is the true hell and that is reserved for Lucifer, his angels that followed him, and the more wicked of souls living on earth, which includes the sons of perdition.
Outer Darkness is not fire and brimstone in a literal sense, but the result that which torments the souls consigned there. Conversely, it is a world of darkness, having no light at all. Dank and cold would be one way to describe it.

It is not true of what you stated.
When we died, we are sent to the spirit world waiting for resurrection and final judgement. Spirit world is not Heaven.
After judgement, we will be sent to Heaven
We believe there are three glories of heaven, Celestial, Telestial and Terrestial. Placement to these glories depends on our works and deeds.
As only in the Celestial, there are three level, in which the highest level is where God dwell.
Then there is "Outer Darkness" for such as Lucifer, which is not part of Heaven.
Hope that clears up any misconception, especially answer from non-Mormons.

They believe in 3 heavens. No hell. You get to go to a higher heaven if you've done the mormon thing correctly. (My wife was raised Mormon but she's been atheist for many years.)

Yes.
And you can't advance to the next level unless you collect 50 halos, find the magic key, and give it to St. Peter hidden somewhere in the level.
