God did not send Jesus to save the world! The mission of Jesus is to bridge the gap between God and man. Salvation is predestinated on this man Jesus. To some sceptical, this world we live in will be destroyed by fire.

We all have a part in doing our best to give back to the earth.
But we don't in a lot of cases. This is the way it's been since the beginning. We have free will, and noone is going to come in and take that away and save us all from ourselves.

I find it to be very anti-humanistic to believe in some sort of "Savior of the world"; to imply that humanity is so inherently evil that it needs some sort of megalomaniacal, divine hero that we HAVE to look up to.
The "savior of the world" needs to be humanity itself.

Yes, each and every one of us has the capacity to save the world from hate, murder, global warming, over-fishing, over population, pollution, and a miriad of horrible things. To think that some fictional charactor is going to save all of us... makes us not do anything.
