Doctor says it's normal, but she's eating less today than ever, and is crying more today than ever.
I don't know what to do to help her get through this.

Ask your doctor if you can give her some childrens motrin for pain and swelling.
My sister just had her tonsils out last monday and she just started eating things like pudding yesterday. It takes time for this to heal. As long as she isn't running a temperature and she is drinking cold fluids, I wouldn't be that concerend. The minute she gets a fever, though, you should go into the doctor because that is a sign of an infection.

Patience is always a good thing. The child will do it when he is ready and there is no need to rush. Reassure the child that it is ok to feel that way. Maybe since he won't go into the toilet but will go in something else I have a suggestion. Maybe you should take him and buy him a potty chair. I know you may feel you are going backwards here as far as potty training but if he has his own special toilet then it won't seem so scary. You can even have him pick out a special book that you can read to him when he wants to go to the bathroom. Just give him lots of hugs and let him decide when it is alright for him.

At day 7 it should be better not worse. Keep triin gto get popsciles down her and trust your gut. If the temp goes up or the pain can't be eased by OTC medicine I would take her to the Dr. regardless of what they say over the phone or switch to a different Dr. if you don't like what you are hearing from the first.

I would take her to another doctor - 7 days seems to be too long for her to still be in a lot of pain. Could have an infection.

The child will be in pain because the healing is not complete as yet so please be patient, and gently feed the baby with a spoon with very soft food and give liquid that swallowing will be more easy, and please take the child back to see the physician and some thing will be given to slow down the pain till healing is complete,

Keep a check on her temp and if she starts running a fever call her dr--it could be infection. Could you call and ask if they can give you something for her pain?
