will it make that I was a student last year? How do I go about claiming it on my taxes??

Student means nothing so you don't claim it. How much you made & whether someone else can claim you all that matters.

There are no special tax advantages for being a student.

If you are claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer (your parents, normally) your tax liability will actually be higher since you lose your personal exemption.

if your a minor and you still depend on some1 then you get less back cause you can only claim like the first $5100.00 for a full return back to you. the rest is just like an adult. but if you not a minor i guess its the same.
