There is an earned income credit I believe it is called, you get so much back for your dependents if you meet the income guidelines. I think it was like 2200 a child. I was a single mother 13 yrs ago, head of household and I got back almost everything I paid in.

Call a CPA or call the IRS hotline. There should be information on it in the tax forms you get at the post office too... If you are a do it yourselfer.
