What is Pachislot?

I'm doing some research on gambling in Japan and have found plenty of stuff about pachinko but absolutely nothing about pachislot. Where can I find information about the prevalence of pachislot, the size of the market, and an explanation of pachislot versus pachinko - what's the difference? Why do people prefer one over the other? Thanks in advance!
