Usually because you start behaving childishly and lying everytime you open your mouth.

This doesn't happen to all Christians - the well-behaved ones are still well-liked. I have Christian friends, of course, and respected colleagues. They behave like adults, and I treat them that way. They don't act like children and then whine about being treated like children. Funny how that works, huh?

Jesus likes you! (Loves you) Other Christians feel a special bond with you. When I told a friend I was a Christian, she said 'No, you're not'. We'd never discussed religion, and she couldn't accept that it was a big part of me.

When they first realize that they want to be a Christian, have been called and aren't fighting it any more, some people feel so liberated and happy that they shout it from the rooftops, and try to convert others so they'll be happy too. People don't know how to handle it; that's the problem, rather than disliking you.

Remember the saying about 'Pearls before swine'. Show you are a Christian by your daily life. Micah says (ch 6 v 8) 'What does the Lord require of you, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?'

So, be prepared to talk about it if asked. Otherwise, just try to do what's right. People are each on their own path of discovery, they may not be as far along it as you are on yours.

if someone drops you merely because you change religions, then they are shallow. When I went from being wiccan to Catholic, some of my friends left (and I never even preached, so no one can blame me for that). THey left because they didn't like the idea of being around a christian. The friends that stayed said it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was happy, I was on the road to recovery, and I was healthier. They said that becoming a Catholic made me a better person (and they're pagan, by the way).

Because when you first take up a particular religion, regardless of which one it is, you tend to be "loud" about it. This is understandable -- you've just found something new in life that has come as a revelation and you're really excited about it. So your tendency is to want to share it with everybody. Unfortunately, you have to realize that not everybody has had the same experiences as you, and that it's easy to come off as an annoying religious nut. Again, I've seen this happen with people of different religions.

There are many different reasons. Some don't like that you've changed. Some think that you will automatically condemn them. Some think that you don't want to spend time with them anymore. Sure, the reasons might not make a whole lot of sense under scrutiny, but people are like that.

I believe it's because so many christians have tried to shove their beliefs on people by judging them that people are shell shocked by Christians. Church almost sounds like a cult for me anymore, and I'm very weary of someone when they try to tell me about God and the bible. I became a believer in 1993, and it was a very personal thing. I was saved reading my bible at home. I started going to a great church, and I just wanted to tell my family and friends about my experience so they could experience it for themselves. Needless to say I was not well received. So I started to talk about the bible to people who did care, fellow church goers. I think in the process of trying to enlighten people that you alienate them instead when they aren't ready to hear God's message. I believe God comes to everyone and that we should be a living example of his love for all. I believe that in living a non judgemental life and keeping a close relationship with God, he will bring people to us that want to hear his message. We don't need to force our beliefs on others, God will let us help others if we let go of our own agenda and follow God's. It's also hard for people to be around saved Christians because there is an actual change when you get saved. Your heart changes, your soul is fulfilled and not everyone in the world has God's spirit inside them(wouldn't it be great if they did), and that's partly why people don't seem to like you anymore. The Lord Jesus Christ's name is precious. For me it's hard to even say because it's so precious and I think a lot of people think like me. That's why people call him Jesus, or Christ, or the Lord. It's easier. It's not so personal. If you feel like you're being put aside by family, friends and acquaintenances, check your behavior. Have you changed towards other people? If not, then give it to God. He will give you the right answer, and the comfort you need.

No everyone doesn't like you don't think that. Some don't like you after you give your life to God those are the ones who are unsaved sinners and they don't like you anymore because you decided to give your life to him and life right. Don't listen to them they are wrong. When you become a saved sinner then your doing right and you'll be promised happiness for enternity and that's more important then people liking you. Those who don't will find out in the end that they will be sorry and there will be ones that do like you. You have to make the right choice for yourself. It's not their life but it's your life. They can't live it for you.

Because becoming a Christian transforms you. Most people reject what Christians believe, and don't want to be near them.

Um...possibly it's you. I have friends who are "super-Christians" (in my book, anyway) and even that doesn't bother me. Are you pushing your religion on others? Is that all you talk about? Because he who prays the loudest is not necessarily the most holy. Don't forget that.

Old Friends may not like you, because they have always made fun of Christians, and now you are one!

The Devil will stir up people who are not close to God.
