God doesn't need money. The 10% is a figure that God handed out for those who believe Him and worship Him. Money, always has and will have an effect on people. Some worship their money more than God, then money becomes their IDOL. Worshiping an idol will keep you out of heaven, we are to worship God and God alone.

In Malachi 3:8-12 God explains His reasons for the tithes. (New King James Version)

Tithing is part of a larger concept of stewardship, that is, sharing of our talents as well as money in supporting the needs of the church in its service to God. Tithing shouldn't be looked at as a duty and something that you "have to do". Rather, it's what the Christian does because of the new heart that the Holy Spirit has given them.

God doesn't need money. The 10% is part of the laws of the old covenant. You are to give as God directs you in OBEDIENCE to God. It's not the money, it's the obedience God is after.

Well he doesn't.

He does not require that you give anything. Giving to your organization should be heartfelt and what you and your family can afford to give. There should never be a set amount of what one should give!

Churches have established that out of selfish gain.

In the time of the Mosaic law, it was required for the upkeep of the temples. Now, with the Mosaic law no longer being in effect, we give out of our heart.

Giving should bring joy, not hostility!

If by any chance you are speaking of tithes to the church- that is not giving money to God but rather to man who is doing God's work

Since throwing the money changers out of the temple, he's found out that they were pretty good accountants and hid a lot of assets from the IRS. So now He needs some cash.

God doesn't need money, nor does he ask for it. Organized religion wants money. There is a big difference between God and big religion.
