If so, can you tell me how well this works for you and your children?

I was a single working mother and contacted the home schooling network in my community to see if anyone was interested in taking in my ADD daughter who did well one-to-one but found a classroom overwhelming. I paid the homeschooling mother because there was childcare included. On Saturdays and Sundays I taught advanced math and physics to her teenagers.

We're Catholic and the local parish had all their after school activities under the Youth Organization and not under the school management. That meant that all children in the parish could sign up for basketball and scouting activities, not just the kids who attended the Catholic school.

It worked very well.

I am homeschooled and my parents work. I do what I can by myself and if I need help I just ask my mom when she gets home. If your not comfortable with that you can hire someone to teach you or get a family member or friend to teach you. They don't really have to be a certified teacher i don't think. If you are homeschooled though you have to keep up with your attendance and send it in every month and the papers say that someone could just show up unannounced and make sure you are doing your schoolwork where I live but they have never actually came. Hope this helps

Well I do internet school, which is a bit like homeschooling. You are supposed to have a parent but since I am a teenager I can do things pretty well by myself. I go to Connections Academy, which is completely free, so it is like you are paying for someone to teach your kids, except it is considered public school. I have always wanted to be homeschooled and since my parents work full-time there is no way that could work for my family. I guess you could pay someone to teach your kids. Well if you live in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin, this school is available for you. Just check out the website and see if you like, I am sure you will!

My parents worked, but I was only homeschooled the last two years of high school, and I went through The American School of Correspondence, so the teachers there were able to help me with homework if I needed it and graded my homework. I imagine if you have young children, it would probably be different.

I am a working mom and I can almost always take my kids to my cleaning jobs. Since most of my clients are very supportive of what I do. Also there dad works second shift so it helps when they stay home in the morning and I am home by 1.00-2.00.

The kids spend quality time with there dad and go to music, art and other activities while I am gone. In the early evening since it's pretty quiet we spend time doing written assignments.

Hope this helps.............

I'm not, but I know of families that do. Sometimes, the parents arrange their schedule so one parent is always home to do the teaching. Other times, one or both parents work from home. If the child is older, you may be able to leave them alone all day with a list of items to complete (of course, if you use an internet-based program, they'll just complete that day's lessons.)

Hope this helps.

I work days, my boyfriend works nights. I assign the work, do all the research and review it at night. My boyfriend is the administrator, so to speak, he is here to make sure the work gets done, or at least worked on, answers any questions and of course, makes meals.

I just enrolled my 17 year old in www.zionacademy.com
They send the booklets and take charge of keeping the grades. Your child can go as fast as they want and get their diploma early.
It is more like a correspondence course.
