I just enrolled my 6 year old girl in kindergarten at a new school, so the rules there are different than previous and different things they teach. Well she's been there for just 6 days now and everyday they send a note with a complaint.

1.She colored outside the line

2. Didn't finish her lunch and came back late from bathroom (she should not be timed in the bathroom).

3. First day of school also first time on school bus, she didn't line up in the right line like she knew which bus was hers before she started lol

4. She's not doing her work correctly.
My question are the teachers too picky, because 6 days and this many notes have been sent, and of course she didn't do the work perfect all the other students had 6 months too learn it, she had a day.
Should i say something to the teacher, explaining that my daughter is just adjusting to new school, i'm almost worried they'll kick her out lol (exaggeration). Thank you

I would contact the principal and show all these notes. The first four seem incredibly petty and childish. The sub should not be allowed near kids if she can't handle a six year old coloring outside the line. As for the last one: what the heck do we have teachers for??? Isn't it her JOB to teach the kid how to do work correctly? Isn't it her JOB to show the mistakes and repeat the instructions until the kid gets it? AND as a teacher, she should know better than to expect a 6 year old to know everything about the new school.

The sub is an idiot.

p.s. you may want to consider the sub's reaction in case the principal takes any action against her. A good idea would be to let the principal know that you are worried about a reaction.

The substitute teacher's behaviour is totally inappropriate and detrimental to your daughter's wellbeing. She is being punished for things that aren't even mistakes. You should photocopy each note and keep them on file. Arrange a meeting with the school principal, a guidance counselor (if one is available) and the teacher. Outline your concerns and express your belief that the sub is making unreasonable demands of a young child.

If all else fails, enroll your daughter in a Montessori School where she will be free to learn and develop at her own pace.

Find out the number for the regular teacher and tell her all the crap this picky witch is doing. Also save all the notes u get and complain to the principal if he/she doesn't do anything talk to the superattendent if he/she doesn't do anything talk to the school board. This teacher doesn't sound like a good teacher if she's sending all these notes. Thats what I would do if I had kids.

You just happen to get a bad substitute teacher, whose got a stick up her a s s!! Talk to the principal, don't talk to the teacher, and find out if there are other mothers with the same problem!

Yes, complain immediately to the Principal --- this substitute is an idiot and she's making trouble for your child.

Also, get those notes off your child's record -- when the REAL teacher returns, you don't want to have your kid set up to be singled out.

This is ridiculous! Did a note about her coloring ability really need to be sent home - give me a break!
You need to march right on down to the principle's office and discuss this with him/her.
