Hands down, Mozilla Firefox. Firefox has become, in my opinion, the most reliable browser out there. It's open source, which means users can implement their own "extensions" or "plug-ins" making the experience more personalized. Anywho...advantages and disadvantages....One advantage with Firefox is that it's a "stand-alone" program. It's not part of Microsoft. It does NOT need all the MS system processes, DLL files, etc. to run the browser...therefore making it a LOT slower.
MS thought it would be "cool" to add RSS feeds and live updated feeds to your IE7 browser....this not only bogs down your PC but your bandwidth as well, depending on how you have them all set to update. Firefox - none of the sort. You can customize Firefox in ways that you can't on IE7, and Firefox is not prone to the Java scripting problems and HTML error problems that IE has always been (including the new 7).
Hope this helps.

Internet Explorer 7 and Firefox are both very similar. They have tabbed browsing, a search bar is included (no extra toolbars needed) (and you can pick your default search provider).
I use both. Internet Explorer is the standard, so web pages are supposed to be created so they show up properly. Firefox tends to not be able to display all pages (like Microsoft.com).
Firefox you can customize with skins and add-ons. As far as I know, IE only has add ons. Add-ons provide additional functionality or controls.
Either one is a good choice (unless you need to access Microsofts site to download things)
Either one would be fine for your computer.

Internet Explorer is faster, but is much less virus-protected. If You want to use it, better buy yourself a good antyvirus. 7 is much more stable than previous versions. However, the new layaout (looks cool but...) is a bit diffrent, than in the previous versions, so You can have a little problem with it.
Firefox is a good browser - it's fast and stable and it's easy to use (if You have used IE6 there won't be a problem with using it). And there are many ad-ons to Firefox - plugins, skins etc.
Both browsers now have got tabs too.
However, I recomend Opera - it's fast, stable and have many usefull options (torrent download, tabs and many more included)

I merely wrote an finished fricken essay about why firefox is extra effective. (I merely reformatted btw) and when I pressed post internet explorer crashed. So I put in firefox & responded. So yeah IE sucks astronomically & it crashing has no longer some thing to do with the computer it merely sucks & is improperly coded. An autistic monkey with a "a thanks to VC++" might want to code a extra effective browser.

I use both, it's convenient to have both installed. Since some sites aren't compatible with IE7, it's always nice to use Mozzillla.
