I read the KJV it is most accurate. One of the men involved with the Nas Dr. Frank Logsdon wrote this about the NAS.
"I must under God renounce every attachment to the New American Standard Version. I'm afraid I'm in trouble with the Lord. We laid the groundwork; I wrote the format; I helped interview some of the translators; I sat with the translator; I wrote the preface. I'm in trouble; I can't refute these arguments; its wrong, terribly wrong; and what am I going to do about it.
When questions began to reach me at first I was quite offended. I used to laugh with others. However, in attempting to answer, I began to sense that something was not right about the New American Standard Version. I can no longer ignore these criticisms I am hearing and I can't refute them. The deletions are absolutely frightening there are so many. Are we so naive that we do not suspect Satanic deception in all of this?
Upon investigation, I wrote my very dear friend, Mr. Lockman, explaining that I was forced to renounce all attachment to the NASV. The product is grievous to my heart and helps to complicate matters in these already troublous times. I don't want anything to do with it.
The finest leaders that we have today haven't gone into it (the new version's use of a corrupted Greek text), just as I hadn't gone into it, that's how easily one can be deceived. I'm going to talk to him (Dr. George Sweeting, then president of Moody Bible Institute) about these things.
You can say the Authorized Version is absolutely correct. How correct? 100% correct! I believe the Spirit of God led the translators of the Authorized Version. If you must stand against everyone else, stand."

The ASV is a good one. I own and read several translations.
I frequently use the KJV in the ministry.
My favorite is The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures for several reasons.
Modern English; easy to understand;
Translated consistently as possible from the original languages of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek;
AND Most Important, restores God's personal name where most translations have removed it nearly 7,000 times. In Hebrew his Name is Yahweh or Yehowah; in English it is translated as Jehovah. See the KJV at Exodus 6:3; Psalm 83:18; Isaiah 12:2; 26:4.
(By the way, the NEW KJV has removed even these 4 occasions of the Divine Name from their version.)
The most popular English translation, the KJV, has a strong trinitarian bias. It is so strong it has even led to texts being added to it to support that view, such as 1 John 5:7 - "... the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
Anyone who doubts the accuracy of the NWT please obtain the 1984 Large Print Reference Bible and check its copious footnotes, marginal references, and appendices.
Compare it with Strog's Concordance as well as Hebrew and Greek lexicons and interlinear translations.

They're all saying the same thing. I actually use several versions, especially when I want to get a fuller explanation of a verse. Most of the time I use the NIV, but I get on Bible Gateway and use other versions too.

I like the original Greek.
It takes me a long time to translate, though. If I don't have the time, I have found the Young Literal Translation does the best job of not changing what the Bible says.
