as a man i would say get the card back asap. i am genrally good with money but when i go out with my freinds, i tend to take the odd tenner here and there and it soon adds up. check your bank statements and make sure he isnt spending your money.
if he isnt then let him keep it and come to an arrangment so you can have some money in your pocket. or you could for example, take 100 pounds and test yourself by keeping it as long as possible. then keep upping the ammount until you become self efficiant and can trust yourself not to spend recklessly. good luck.

you should talk to your boyfriend and let him know that your family didn't feel or it a great idea... let him know so he make sure that he will gain your parent trust... to him .... My question is that will you both be last long ??? what if both of you broke up and it was bad and he decide that want to take all the money..?? in on the long run make sure keep commucation with your boyfriend you don't need to ask for yahoo answer.. because, it part of build trust, commucation, caring, loving, all that with your boyfriend... smiling. Do what you think is best and If you know more about your boyfriend than your parents then cool nothing to worry about.

If you were my daughter I would like to hear what you want to say and if you told me that my boyfriend got my bank card... I would ask why? how long are you both together since when and Have I meet him and I would like to meet him... stuff like that.. Meaning you need my support too smiling. i might give you better advice. smilng.

My daughter and son are age between 3 and 2 and I always listen what they have to say and I talk to them .... you know what I mean. smiling. As long he treat you respect caring and love you for who you are then I am fine.

If you don't trust him get your bank card back. If you want to save money give the card to your parents for safekeeping. You can also open up a savings account where you can earn better interest. You get very little interest paid for the money in your checking account. Ask him to have the card back because it is yours!

Are we talking boyfriend as in someone you are dating or the person you live with and share your life with?

I would trust my bf to look after my bank card and things like that for me as we've been together 2 years, live together, share everything etc and I trust him completely, but someone of a few months no way, he could be anyone.

I think you should err on the side of caution with this. I'm speaking as someone whose boyfriend did use my card to take money from my account without my permission! If you do give him the card, don't give him your pin number cos if you do and he doe take money from your account, the bank will have no sympathy - your pin shouldn't be disclosed to anyone. Better to learn yourself how to budget better. If you really want to give it to him, how about buying a secure cashbox, locking it in there abd keeping the key yourself?

From your question i reckon you are fairly young - 16 years to 20 years max? Just tell him can you have it back please cos your parents are making a fuss about it. If i was your mum i wouldnt mind being blamed so you get your card back. It really isnt a good idea to be so trusting. I know one MUM who nicked £10,000 off her SON!!! Anyway, you need to learn how to manage and save your own money. Don't rely on men to do this for you.

I think it is a bad idea. There are lots of other thing you can do to save your money. Do not give him your card or tell him you need it back so your parents can hold on to it.

It's your card. You can let him keep it or get it back from him anytime you want. You shouldn't have to explain yourself to him or anyone else.

However, if you really want to save. Let him have the card but don't tell him the bank code. You can also just cut the card up and do all your transactions during banking hours.

No, absolutely not. Never! Get your card back and have it replaced with a different number.

Don't ever allow "anyone" to take control of your bank card.
